Today was the first day walking again after another flare. The weather was kind, about 27°C with a fresh breeze, and I gladly joined my husband on his afternoon walk.
It’s always a strange feeling to “start over,” as I’ve done many times since I became ill years ago. My body flares with infections that keep coming back, and each time it means rebuilding my VO₂, my step count, my stamina… and my patience. It’s a delicate balance between moving and resting, and honestly? It can be frustrating at times.
But one thing these setbacks have taught me is how to really notice and appreciate the little things. Today, I let myself enjoy the way the flowers on the path danced in the wind. Their quiet beauty reminded me that even small steps count, and every step is already a victory.
