It’s interesting to me that things we see daily or fairly often have much more details than we pay attention to. This hedge of green is along Lynden City Park near the stone house with a thatched roof. What struck me about this hedge, was the angle at which it was growing. Instead of growing upwards and seeking light, it’s actually growing downward at an angle towards the ground. I am thinking this is a Hemlock tree, which might account for part of the drooping angle, but nonetheless, it intrigues me. 😁
Today was coffee roasting day. While roasting for my customer, I also roasted for us. All told-7 pounds. Then it was off to the post office to ship it.
Some seed cones with a completely different texture than the Alder tree it was attached to.
I then watched an online video as for me, it was too hot to hike at 4 PM. 🥵
Some little white flowers against a backdrop of green textures.
After the video, I hopped on the stationary bike.
Nature’s barbed wire. Don’t get tangled up in that! 😳
A Morning Glory with an unopened new bloom beside it.
A baby Alder leaf. More textured than an older one. Such little details that are missed if you aren’t looking.
A pine cone nestled in soft grass.
Grass with some nice seed heads.
This next picture is sweet. The story that goes with it-not so much.
We came upon a flock of ducks. One duck was a mom with baby ducklings. They didn’t look very old as they were so tiny. Given that school is out, there were lots of kids about. As we had stopped to take pictures, a group of 4 girls came up the trail and headed for them. They were 14-15 year age bracket. About the same time, 4 boys in the same age bracket got their attention. Unfortunately one of the girls made a grab for a baby as the mother duck tried to defend her young. The girl got the baby in her hand. I said fairly loud that ‘ that isn’t cool! They should leave them be’. The oldest boy picked up on what I said and repeated it word for word to the girl. I did see her release the duck, but we left at that point. I heard him repeat it again, so I’m hoping her wanting to please him was greater than the desire to harass the ducks. It’s sad that they had no respect for the wildlife and the stress they were causing to the mother duck and all the babies! In this day and age, you have to be careful in what you say or do as the kids have realized that all they have to do is say you did something and it’s your word against theirs. Add a group of them together…..well you see where I’m headed. Simple terms-lack of respect all the way around!
Tomorrow sees me headed to ladies Bible study. That’s gonna be it for now. Take care and enjoy the rest of your day wherever you are! 🙏🌏🙏

NKJV Ephesians 6:10-18
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—
