The baby deer in the photo looks as if it’s asking, ‘who goes there?’ More on that in a minute.
The day began at church albeit an hour later than usual as we were having a combined service instead of the usual two. There was a youth retreat up at Mt. Baker and in order to make it easier for everyone, the youth Sunday services would conclude about 30 minutes before ours did so that parents could pick their kids up easily.
Our service was wonderful as always-we never tire of Pastor Kyle’s sermons and the worship is excellent as well. 😇
Once home, some things around the house and then a hike! The sun was shining-an oddity lately, and we aimed to enjoy it!
In heading up to the trailhead, we ran into last year’s baby and its mom. Baby was not too sure about us and trotted across the street and into the forest. Mom looked at us and stamped her feet and jumped 3 times towards us! We guessed she was trying to ward us off! Needless to say, it didn’t work. She eventually set out after baby.
Pepe Frog hitched a ride in @silvertop’s backpack and Pepe-yette Frog in mine. They were headed for their second date! This time, no ex-girlfriends or anyone was along to chaperone!
They soon found themselves on that bench when Pepe reached over and—you guessed it gave Pepe-yette frog a kiss!
I’m not so sure the other girl frog would be happy about this! 🐸
I found an interesting fungus but couldn’t get close. I used the zoom to take the picture.
The sun looked lovely shining through the Skunk Weed!
These guys look like little fingers.
They’ve been there a good long while. I keep thinking they will shrivel away. So far-not.
