The second Friday in May was a rather busy day for me and it started very early as I had left my old computer to install the Linux True Nas Skale system last night so that I could practice in a self-hosting installation and I get up early to set it up before leaving the house.
Self hosting is coming back in fashion in time for GDPR as we are rediscovering the importance of not entrusting your sensitive data to big web giants who are not always transparent about how they use our confidential information.
The first stage of the day was a company in Naples where I’m giving a hand to the network system manager in the management of corporate informatization.
Later on, a friend of mine contacted me and asked if I could get to a friend of his because she had computer problems in her private post office in my neighborhood.
The software it used for payments really took up a lot of system resources and it was necessary to install 8 GB of additional RAM to improve the performance of the computer where it was running.
In the evening I had to leave the control of the computer to finish updating the computer that ran an old version of Windows 10 or the 2004, a number of releases that have really done this by torturing many users of one of the most successful versions of WinZozz.

Una proficua giornata in giro per Napoli
Il secondo venerdì del mese di maggio è stato un giorno piuttosto impegnativo per me ed è cominciato molto presto in quanto avevo lasciato un mio vecchio computer ad installare il sistema Linux True Nas Skale ieri sera per potermi esercitare in una installazione di self hosting e mi sono alzato presto per configurarla prima di uscire di casa.
Il self hosting sta tornando di moda in tempo di GDPR in quanto si sta riscoprendo l'importanza di non affidare i propri dati sensibili ai grandi colossi del web che non sono sempre trasparenti su come utilizzano le nostre informazioni riservate.
La prima tappa della giornata è stata una società di Napoli dove sto dando una mano al sistemista di rete nella gestione della informatizzazione aziendale.
Dopo mi ha contattato un mio amico che mi ha chiesto se riuscissi ad arrivare da una sua amica perché aveva problemi informatici nella sua agenzia di poste private nel mio quartiere.
Il software che utilizzava per i pagamenti richiedeva davvero risorse ingenti di sistema ed è stato necessario installare 8 gbyte di RAM aggiuntiva per migliorare le prestazioni del computer dove girava.
In serata mi sono fatto lasciare il controllo del computer per finire di aggiornare il computer che montava una vecchia versione di Windows 10 ovvero la 2004, un numero di release che ha fatto veramente ciò da torcere a numerosissimi utenti di uno delle versioni di maggior successo di WinZozz.
E mentre rientro a casa da questa lunghissima giornata che saluto tutti gli straordinari pionieri della blockchain di Hive che sono capitati tra le righe di questo Actifit report.
