Today, life hit a weird paradox—more hectic, yet somehow more still.
Our youngest had surgery yesterday. He’s home now, recovering, which means we’re on full-time help mode. Add in our daughter needing wheelchair support, and yeah, “relaxing” isn’t the word that comes to mind.
But here’s the twist: because we can’t leave the house for trips or errands, there’s also this unexpected pocket of time. And I filled that space with walking. Twice. In the sunshine. At 0 degrees, no less—but I’ll take what I can get.
The canal was glowing like it knew I needed the mood lift. Glassy reflections, leaf-crunch paths, and a sky that said, “Hey, slow down, you’re doing okay.”
Parenting in times like this isn’t pretty or poetic. But these photos? They’re proof that even the messy seasons come with beautiful light.
