Depleting Energy
Heyyy, Actifitters!
We're finally approaching the weekend. Yay! I'll finally get extra hours of sleep to compensate for the super late nights this week.
Honesty, my body just gets to its breaking point almost on cue every Friday. My energy level just barely gets me by towards the end of the week.
For a change though, I had a bit more sleep on Thursday, and I was able to drag myself to a short walk just before sunset.
Golden Hour
It was worth it, getting up and not curl up next to my cat. I was able to catch the beautiful sundown. I went to the direction of the Umm Al Emarat Park to chase the sunset.
It was a pleasant walk. Breezy, but not chilly.
Just as I was approaching the entrance of the park, I heard the canon firing-- a signal that the sun had set and that fasting hours were over for those observing the Ramadan. Though I was expecting it, the loud sound still made my heart jump out of my chest! I think I even let out a loud "Yelp!", loud enough for other joggers around me to hear. Not that they care. Lol.
Spring Upcoming
I also noticed that the dates palm tree started flowering already (photo above is from around the same time last year- I did not take a picture this time). This just signifies that we are at the tail end of winter and the temperature will start to rise in the coming weeks. Hmmm, perhaps I should arrange more beach outings with the fam this month. 🏖
Premature Turn.
Instead of taking another lap around the park, I decided to head back home. I remembered I needed to get some stuff from the grocery. I just grabbed my purse and a shopping bag, and then the kids and I trotted to the nearby grocery store.
I'm surprised to get to over 7k steps considering I was so idle most of the day, just going over some finance stuff and our normal homeschooling day.
I promised myself that I would be more active to chop off some dreaded extra kg's. I am desperately failing myself. 😪
More effort is required. I need to manage my time better so I can get that badly needed sleep properly.
