RE: Something "Special" For You

I'd heard of them, but couldn't have named a song by them. I've listened to a fair bit of 'southern rock' over the years, but am not sure I need to hear Freebird or Sweet Home Alabama again :) I played the latter in a band.

A couple of things I noticed in your selections were that the band had three guitarists and two drummers. That is unusual. Also, those videos were uploaded 15 years ago which reminds us how long Youtube has been around.

A southern rock band I got into years ago was the Georgia Satellites. I played this song with a different band.

Georgia Satellites are pretty awesome. Unfortunately for them, that was the only song that really became anything in the US. I think they did have a song on the Cocktail soundtrack, but it wasn't as big of a hit as keep your hands to yourself. My wife got to see them open for Bon Jovi when she went with her sister. There are some really great southern rock bands in the US outside of the more popular stuff. You should check out Atlanta Rhythm Section sometime if you haven't heard them before.
