Because who says you need sunshine to slay poolside?
Not every island day comes with sunshine and blue skies—and that’s exactly what made this particular day at Siargao Residences so special. While most would sulk at the sight of overcast skies, I took it as my sign to slow down, slip into something fabulous, and turn the day into my very own tropical reset.
Tucked away in General Luna, Siargao Residences is a quiet little hideaway surrounded by lush greens, charming cottages, and the kind of pool that just calls your name, even on a rainy day. I showed up in a bold hot pink one-shoulder swimsuit (because we don’t let a little rain dull the sparkle, darling!) and let the mood match the moment: calm, soft, and absolutely serene.
The rain lightly tapped the surface of the pool, creating the most relaxing ripple effect. I waded through the warm water, savoring the silence, the soft breeze, and the feeling of just being. No noise. No rush. Just me, the rain, and a pool that felt like my private little sanctuary.
After a few glorious laps and of course, some essential OOTD shots (because even rainy pool days deserve a feature), I wrapped up in a towel and headed to the wooden deck. There, I found the perfect cozy corner to sip on something cool and enjoy the fresh scent of rain-soaked leaves. A full-on nature therapy session served with style.
Whether you’re here for a long stay or a quick escape, Siargao Residences is proof that rainy days can be just as magical, if not more than the sunny ones. Sometimes, it’s not about chasing the sun, but dancing in the rain… or in my case, floating through it fabulously.
Would I do it again? In a heartbeat. Rain or shine, Siargao Residences gave me the kind of peace I didn’t know I needed. So if you ever find yourself on this beautiful island with cloudy skies overhead, don’t hide away, grab your cutest swimsuit, channel your inner island goddess, and let the rain be part of the story.
Travel tip: Don’t forget a waterproof pouch for your phone, a bright swimsuit that pops against moody skies, and a good pair of sunnies, you never know when the sun might surprise you after all.
