Gas my favorite way to go. Ready to grill in 2 min. No cleanup needed or easy cleanup when you feel like it. If you want other flavor, just add some wood bits or other to give more smoke or taste.

I don't know, every time I am forced to use a gas grill I can never get the cook right. It usually takes way longer than it should and the grill never gets up to a decent temp even with all the burners on full blast. It's been different grills too, so I can't even blame it on one specific grill being faulty. It just ends up being a lot more work and a lot more stress when I have to deal with gas.
