It's hard to believe that just a week ago I was rushing home from my conference to be sure I was available to help @mrsbozz with a very special night. As part of the grant money she received to promote staff self care, she booked an evening at a local art studio.
Any staff member that wanted to come was invited and they each picked a hanging sign to put a specific design on and paint. The place is called Stuido 154 and this is the second year we have worked with them for a night like this.
The people from our group spent the evening talking, drinking, painting, and eating the pizza that I had delivered. It was very nice. Small businesses like this are part of what makes communities thrive. They can be the heart and soul of a town and without them those little map dots would be cold and lonely places.
Studio 154 also gives local students an opportunity to share their skills as most activities are led by art minded students from neighboring school districts. It's pretty cool.

It is time again for another Finance Friday/Friday Finance. This is a series I started where I talk about random bits of financial stuff that I have seen, gathered, or experienced during the week. I hope as a reader you find it informational, entertaining, or both. I also hope it can generate some good discussion and edify the community.
KZOO Bullion
Speaking of small businesses, I know I have mentioned this before but if you are into precious metal stacking, you really need to check out Kzoo Bullion. Full disclosure, that is absolutely a referral link. They have a rewards program and I get points when you purchase stuff from them. In turn, if you know anyone who isn't on Hive but they stack silver and gold, feel free to give them your referral link.
If I had to guess those of you who have been stacking a while probably know people with deeper pockets than I do! You might earn some decent bank off them :)
It looks like right now I have about 709 points. I am guessing I earned those when I was buying stuff online around Christmas time. You need 10,000 points to earn $5 off your purchase, so I have a long way to go!
I think in the past I erroneously indicated the owners of Kzoo Bullion were somehow tied to the city of Kalamazoo. I recently found a thread on Reddit where someone was talking about their location and the owners just happened to be in the sub as well. It turns out, that is not the case and their location in the town where I grew up Midland, MI is their main base of operations. I'm going to have to get over there again sometime.

This is a painting that was for sale at the art studio I mentioned above. I feel like it represents my home state very well. I found it quite captivating.
CHEX
I've been a big believer in Chintai for a while now. Even back when their main focus was on lending and borrowing tokens I thought it was an interesting idea. When they launched their token CHEX, I bought as much as I was comfortable with. Over the years, I have continued to add to my stack.
The new information we have been seeing about digitalization of assets being the next big thing makes me pretty excited that I bought when I did, since that is exactly what CHEX is geared towards now.
I bought the majority of my stack when it was $.03. I continued to pick a little more up when it was around $.07. A couple of weeks ago I was surprised when it jumped up to $.14 and then last night I got the news that it was up around $.21. I have some online friends who are also invested in CHEX (on a much larger scale than me), and they seem to think $10 isn't out of the question if not more.
Of course, it's all just speculation at this point, but if most real world assets do get digitized, this could be a big deal for Chintai. I've also learned that soon there will be CHEX staking and those same folks who own a lot more than I do are hoping to be able to live off the income they make from CHEX staking.
As for me, I'd be happy if it is just another stream of passive income. If the price goes north of $50 per token though, I am probably selling it all! :)
JP Morgan on the Hook for ~$350M
I saw a story the other day about how JP Morgan is getting fined $348,200,000 for unsafe or unsound banking practices. I don't have a lot to say about this, but I think it's interesting that people and the SEC can't see that the traditional side of things is just as corrupt or even more corrupt than the crypto side of things.
Eventually the public is going to wise up to the crypto scare tactics and start asking the tough questions about these traditional shenanigans.
RETIK Finance
You might remember me previously mentioning that I might have fallen for a scam with Retick Finance. So far, the jury is still out on that one. They have completed their token presale and the site hasn't went 404 on me yet, so I have a little hope there. If you do some research online, you will see countless people talking about how it is a scam since their appears to be no "team" associated with it.
On the flip side of things, there are a small number of people who think people just need to be patient. Those are likely the people who haven't accepted the fact that their money is gone yet.
Personally, I'm fully expecting that my money is gone, but on the off chance it isn't, this could be really good for me. Needless to say, I am keeping my eye on this one whether I want to or not.
Unlike CHEX, I don't encourage you to invest on this one at all. In fact, run the other way and don't look back. You will likely thank me for it later!
Meanwhile, the Halving is just about a month away now, are you ready?
