Sometimes you just have to say WTF!

Sometimes there are just no words to describe something. It might be something you see, it might be a situation, it might even be a person or their behavior. That's sort of what happened to us this past weekend as we were strolling through the campground at North Higgins Lake.

We came across a Jeep pulling this very unique camper behind it. Upon closer inspection, it would appear that they took a boat and left it on a trailer and then added a frame to the top to enclose the entire thing.

As long as the trailer for the boat is sound, there isn't really any rule about doing something like this, but I can't say as though I have ever seen anything like it before in my life. Higgins Lake is a pretty big sportsmans lake, so it makes me wonder about the "sea-worthiness" of this vessel. Is it a boat? Is it a camper? Can it go in the water, or does it only travel on land these days?

It is time again for another Finance Friday/Friday Finance. This is a series I started where I talk about random bits of financial stuff that I have seen, gathered, or experienced during the week. I hope as a reader you find it informational, entertaining, or both. I also hope it can generate some good discussion and edify the community.

Like the object in the opening photo, the markets might have you uttering some WTF's to yourself lately as well. I think many of us knew a dip was coming, but we might have not realized just how significant it was going to be. Of course, if you zoom out a bit, you will see that the dip really wasn't much of a dip at all.

At least for BTC.

Hive on the other hand has been a bit of a punch in the gut. It seems like you can't go into any Discord lately where there isn't an abundance of doom and gloom about Hive. Honestly, some of the comments make me wonder why folks still hang around. I mean, if it's that horrible "why are you still here?". There are plenty of other things you can invest in, take your negativity elsewhere.

Don't misunderstand, I know Hive isn't perfect. There are definitely things we should fix, but I still see a lot of positivity here and whatever the price, I still plan on showing up, curating, commenting, and posting like I always have.

Several years ago, @mrsbozz and I were visiting Nashville, TN and we decided to take a tour of the Andrew Jackson estate called The Hermitage. Ever since buying the tickets for the tour, I have been getting a constant stream of emails from the organization. This one came across my inbox the other day and I wanted to share it with the #silvergoldstackers group.

While not the most morally upstanding person, Andrew Jackson did have some interesting views on finance and banking. It would be interesting to see what he thought about cryptocurrency were he still alive today. Would he be for it or against it?

What I do know is that he knew a good deal when he saw one and on some level he must have been a stacker. He picked up the silver dish above and some other items for the sum of $350. Looks like a steal to me and although the picture is quite small, you can still tell the detail on that stag head is pretty impressive.

If you happen to be in the Nashville area, you might want to stop in and take a look at this fantastic piece of history.

ETH Boom

I know others have covered this a bit lately, but the SEC dropped their case against ETH. Like the opening photo where you can't tell if it is a boat or a camper, the debate over whether ETH is a security or not seems to be a moot point now. Given the recent ETF filings and now this decision, ETH seems poised to be one of the hot tickets for this next bull run.

It certainly does feel like there is a lot of momentum building up. I am trying not to get my hopes up too high, but it really does feel like 2025 is going to be life changing. People probably said that about the last bull run too though...

I know it isn't for everyone, but if you have a Telegram account, you owe it to yourself to get involved in the new Hamster Kombat game/airdrop. Believe it or not, it now holds the record for subscribers gained in one month. It might just be another memecoin, but this thing has the potential to be pretty big.

Basically, all you do is launch the app and tap on the hamster to earn tokens. You then use those tokens to buy cards and eventually you will get an airdrop based on the cards you hold. It's all going to take place on Telegrams blockchain called TON, so if you don't have a TON wallet, you might want to sign up for one of those too. I use TONKEEPER.

Do your own research of course, but if you haven't jumped in yet and you are curious, feel free to use the referral link from my Tweet above. Some of the cards you can only get if you invite people, so I appreciate your clicks!

That's all I've got this week! I hope you have an awesome weekend and the markets treat you good!

Jackson was quite a character, I think he might have liked it just on the fact he was not a fan of a centralized bank. Beyond that who really knows? I wonder if he would have approved being put on the $20 bill in the first place, probably not!

No, probably not!

I'd also be curious what he might have thought about crypto. Of could we know he was against centralized banking. Altho I am against him being on the $20, the humor of them putting him there when he absolutely would have hated being put there is not lost on me. So he might appreciate the decentralized aspect of crypto. But then again, he valued tangible assets and backed the gold standard. The fact that crypto is essentially backed by nothing but math would probably make him suspicious and more than a little distrustful.

Good points. I guess we will never know. Speculating is fun though!

If Hive keeps going down, perhaps I will convert our car into a house ;D

I'm not seeing that many people down on Hive. Many just get on with using it for various things. You have to think long term when it takes so long to power down and we've seen things go up and down before. If you desperately need the money then what you make here is a bonus. We are building cool things and I'm not going anywhere.

As for that boat/camper, people will do what works for them. I know campers can cost a lot of money. Some people here convert old vans or even ambulances or buses.

We have an ambulance that is now a camper just a couple sites down from us at our current campground. I think a lot of the negative talk happens in Discord where people feel more free to vent.

I only check a couple of Discord channels as it just eats time. If people have something to say then they should write a post :)

I don't disagree with you!

So would we call that a bamper? Lol. Oh, man, the things people do.

It's pretty crazy. As I mentioned in the comments, at our current campground we have a converted ambulance down the loop from us.

That's probably sea worthy vessel, if the added weight is well balanced it shouldn't have too many issues.

The downside is, if you are inside and something goes bad, you can't really get out of the boat.

But a cool idea for just a camper.

Those are some good points! I never even thought about the balance aspect.

Uh ... this who get mad that Hive fall just now have not seen bear and bull all time , ... when Hive is low and HBD up, it is best time to dig Lot HIVE up 😋🍦🍰👌👌👌👌

I totally agree! I have been buying quite a bit of Hive lately!

Cool 🍺🍺🍺🍺👌👌😋

I have been too!

Living in southern Indiana, otherwise known as Kentukiana, I have seen a lot of WTF stuff like your boat-camper mutant. The ability of people to "engineer" some of these things amazes me. So does the amount of beer and weed it probably takes as well.

Haha, you are probably right on that last part. It seems like a pretty common thing to add the word "tucky" to whatever town you live in to designate it as redneck. Like I grew up in a town called Midland, I am sure some people call areas of it "Midtucky".

I love that boat/trailer/WTF ! Maybe he was worried about camping somewhere and then getting swept away during a flash flood in the middle of the night - problem solved !!!
!LOLZ

That could be! We had flood warnings at our campground this past weekend.
