I'm not shocked, but I am a little bit surprised that here we are a week later and BTC is sitting at just about the same place it was last week. Well around the same area. I'm actually writing this post a little early because I know I will be busy with family over the Thanksgiving holiday, but the current $96,000 may as well be the same thing as $99,000 right?
I think we can all agree that the training wheels don't come off until we finally break $100,000 right? I really thought hoped we would be there by now. It will come in time. I know this for certain. I just hope it happens sooner rather than later. The fact that we spent all last cycle expecting it makes it even more significant this time around.
It is time again for another Finance Friday/Friday Finance. This is a series I started where I talk about random bits of financial stuff that I have seen, gathered, or experienced during the week. I hope as a reader you find it informational, entertaining, or both. I also hope it can generate some good discussion and edify the community.
As the year starts to wind down, I find myself thinking about 2025 and all the possibilities and responsibilities that it has for me. No lie, I was up at 2:30 AM the other morning thinking about what my gameplan would be if one of the tokens I am currently holding happened to hit $50 to $100 per token. Hope can keep you going, but it can also be a burden at times.
Will the first week of December bring us back around to the same spot or will we finally break through that $100K mark?
Back to those responsibilities...
@mrsbozz and I have been talking for a while now about getting some kind of trust set up in case something were to happen to one or both of us. I think 2025 needs to be the year that we finally get that taken care of.
I also think that 2025 needs to be the year I either consolidate or fully inventory all of my crypto holdings so that I can have a more accurate picture of what we hold and where we hold it. I also need to establish some kind of gameplan for accessing those funds in case something were to ever happen to me. The thought of that going to waste simply because I didn't properly educate or inform my wife kills me.
Big Moves on HIVE
If you have been keeping an eye on the HIVE price lately, it has been doing some interesting things. It seems the Koreans are having a bit of fun again and doing some funky things with the price as they have in the past. I try not to let these swings bug me too much. I just keep plugging away with my accounts.
I recently bought some more of the RUG token on HIVE-Engine to put myself at 2000 tokens. This has been a great investment and is giving something like a 70% return right now mostly in thanks to the swapping that is happening off platform.
I've also made a decision to start actively growing my @bozz.sports account by powering up on the first of each month. Hopefully be fore long I will reach 5000 HP staked on that account. I recently topped 85,000 HP staked on my main account and I have 100K HP firmly in my sights.
Black Friday
If you live in the US, you probably already know that today is called Black Friday. Many people go out shopping and spend money they don't have on things they don't need simply because they are on sale. I've seen some memes lately where they point out that products on Black Friday are usually the same price as always, they just make the discount look bigger so that you think you are getting a big deal.
I used to get caught up in all of the deals that the hardware and big box stores were having, but I eventually realized, I wasn't buying stuff because I needed it, I was buying it because I thought I was getting a good deal on it, and that is dangerous.
If I do spend some money today, it will likely be at the record store where I plan on taking my niece in a little bit. I might also keep an eye on some of the major disc golf makers to see if they are offering any specials for this major shopping weekend.
Worst case, I wait until Cyber Monday and see if they have any deals then!
Traditional Markets
Finally, I would be remiss if I didn't mention all the things that are happening with the traditional markets. We have been seeing some interesting movement since the election results came in. I'm curious to see how those movements are going to translate into my year end distributions. Like unwrapping a present at Christmas, it is always a bit exciting to log into my account to see how much money has been deposited back in via dividends and capital gains.
If you celebrate I hope you had a blessed holiday weekend. If you don't, I still hope you have an amazing time.
