As I mentioned last week, it was my birthday this past weekend. You might think that would be cause for celebration, but honestly, that wasn't the most exciting part of my weekend. Like many others I have talked to, the older you get, the more your birthday just becomes another day. Sure, there are some milestone ones here and there and the people who love you and care about you might want to make a big deal about it. If it were up to you though, you would probably just let it slide without a lot of fanfare.

@mrsbozz and I actually went out on Friday to celebrate my birthday. Somewhere along the line, we've accumulated a fair number of gift cards to various restaurants in the area. We had two for Texas Roadhouse and since we have never been there before, we decided to check it out. @mrsbozz got a chicken dish that she said was really good.
Despite the recommendation from @themarkymark to get the prime rib (It's not my favorite cut), I instead got the ribeye steak and ribs combo. I knew going in it was going to be way too much food. I actually took enough leftovers home to give me two more meals plus what I ate on Friday. The steak was seasoned and cooked well, but I still believe I've never had a steak better than what I can grill myself at home. The ribs were falling off the bone and pretty delicious.
We went early enough that we kind of beat the crowd. It's pretty crazy just how busy this place can get. Without a gift card, I'm not sure I would visit again. It's pretty expensive even just for two people.

Probably the second biggest deal for me this past weekend happened on Saturday when I did my regular power up for Hive Power Up Day (#HPUD). I was only going to do like 50 HP or something like that since I have been trying to keep some liquid should we see some positive price movement. When I realized how close I was to my goal of 75,000 HP, I just couldn't resist and I powered up more than I had planned.
This is a big deal for me, I've been working towards this for quite some time now. With 75,000 securely in the bag, my next goal will be 100,000. I wouldn't be surprised if it takes me another year and a half to get there.
You might notice I have quite a bit of HP delegated out. The majority of that is going to @holozing and once I hit my planned goal for staked ZING, I will probably pull that delegation back a bit.

The other big news from my weekend also happened on Saturday. I recently joined a casual disc golf league and I needed to get out and play a local course to set my baseline score for the season. I asked @mrsbozz if she wanted to come and play the course with me and she said sure. It was a ton of fun getting out on the course Saturday morning and sharing something I love to do with my wife.
She actually enjoys the sport, she just hasn't played it as much as me, so she needs some practice to gain confidence with her throws. After our round, I ordered her a new disc to use as her main driver to see if that makes things easier for her.
I've been working on my throw and form to see if I can increase my distance. I actually threw a decent 8 over par which is kind of good for me. I think last year when I played this course I threw 18 over.

Unfortunately, as I said, this round was to establish a baseline for me to try and beat in the following weeks. It actually would have been better if I had shot a horrible round because it would be easier to improve on my score. By shooting an 8 over, I set the bar pretty high for myself. I'm going to have to work really hard to beat my previous weeks score each time I go out.
I actually forgot how much I like this course. It's probably one of the closest ones to where I live and fairly easy to get to. There are some longer holes, but most of them are quite short and there is a good mix of open spaces and wooded fairways.
I also appreciate the fact there are some mandatory spots which make certain holes a little more technical. For example, on hole 1, you have to be sure your disc travels on a certain side of one tree.
I'm not going to share @mrsbozz's score. I will just say it was higher than mine and given this was only her second or third time disc golfing ever, I think she did really well.
Plus, I think she is more open to going with me again in the future now. Spending time with the woman I love doing something I love is never a bad thing!

Finally, there are only two days left of school. Two half days actually. By Wednesday school will officially be out and my summer plans can officially begin. The photo above is a little guy that spends a fair amount of time in my wife's office.
They occasionally walk over to my office to say hi to me and to give him a break from his school work. I let him take my drone one day to fly around. It's crazy scary how naturally kids these days pick up on electronics like this. He was flying it like a pro in no time.
Here's hoping that like this drone, the crypto markets continue to go up over the next several months. I have a feeling June, July, and August are going to fly right by.
Let's make sure we are all celebrating the small things when we can!
