El tequeño tiene su historia de cómo pasó a formar parte de la tradición venezolana desde hace mucho. Siempre se escucha la famosa frase de: fiesta sin tequeños no es fiesta. Este es un invitado que en tiempos anteriores se hacía en casa el preparado de la masa y el tipo de queso a utilizar, para esto se consideraba un arte porque en ocasiones algunos no quedaban sabrosos, esponjosos en el momento de freírlos.
Si hay quienes se dedican a ofrecer el tequeño en sus platos de pasa palos que ofrecen, en esto hay negocios que ofrecen el servicio y uno de los primeros es el tequeño dentro de la variedad ofrecida.

Como todo evoluciona, podemos encontrar tequeños con relleno de chocolate y alguna que otra mermelada, siempre está presente el ingenio en este tipo de pasa palos juntando lo tradicional con lo moderno. Eso sí, los de queso con mermelada son muy ricos, los he probado.
Así como hay personas que se dedican a este tipo de trabajos manuales, preparación de tequeños y otros, también encontramos empresas que se han dedicado a prepararlos en forma masiva de manera que hay distribuidores en diferentes zonas. El tradicional tequeño de fiesta, el tequeñòn como les dicen a los más grandes y el que viene en tamaño escolar.
Hay unos familiares que se han encargado de ser distribuidores de este producto, hasta el momento les va muy bien, viajan a zonas como Pariaguàn, Aguasay y han tenido receptividad de los negocios de la zona teniendo el producto más cerca de los hogares. Son excelentes y a la mano para cualquier reunión que se tenga. Eso sí, hay que utilizar aceite como debe ser, la otra opción es en el horno, aunque fritos son más ricos.
