The moment Cody Rhodes announced that he wanted a rematch against Randy Orton, I was over the moon. These two share long and interwoven histories and it would be great to have them in the ring again; especially with the under-disputed WWE title at stakes
Let me start by saying that Cody and Randy used to belong to a group known as The Legacy. They were very troublesome for WWE alongside Ted DiBiase Jr. They have been fighting each other for many years now so they know all of their moves by heart.
Were you aware that the WWE match where Cody first competed was against Randy Orton? Yeah, they fought each other in 2007 and it was their initial face-off. It’s astonishing if we think about how much ground they have covered up to now.
Now Cody Rhodes is demanding for another fight with Randy Orton. He knows he would be easily beaten by Randy if this happened a decade ago but he wants to see what would happen if they wrestled today.
I think it’s an excellent idea because both of them are on SmackDown which means their paths could cross at any moment. And we all know that Randy Orton wouldn’t pass up an opportunity like going against the Undisputed WWE champion.
Envision the build-up hype of this contest. They are two WWE legends who have fought many times in their careers, but now they meet at the top for the richest prize in wrestling. It is going to be massive.
However, I want to watch this match not only because of what they have done before. I believe that Cody Rhodes should get a chance for the Undisputed WWE Championship too.
Lately, Cody has been on fire. Since leaving WWE and creating his own company AEW (All Elite Wrestling), he has shown that he is among the greatest talents worldwide. He won several titles and had amazing matches with some of the industry’s biggest names.
However, I believe there is a side of Cody that still wants to prove himself in WWE. Hence why not win the Undisputed WWE Championship?
Certainly, Randy Orton is not going to allow him to have it easily. Randy is one of the most hazardous persons when it comes to WWE who has won 14 world championships so far. But this is what makes this match thrilling.
This is a battle between two of the greatest wrestlers on earth; a clash of titans. And honestly speaking, I’m very eager to watch this happening.
What’s your take? Do you want Randy to challenge Cody for Undisputed WWE Championship? Leave a comment below and let me know.
