The Gingerbread House that went Boom!

in The Man Cave Project10 months ago

I think enough time has passed before I post about the gingerbread house my friend's family constructed during the Holidays. The adjective I would use for it is "amazing" because they put a lot of effort into putting it together. It looked like it could be something you'd see at the Festival of Trees in Utah each year.

Here's a photo I took at the event this year:

Here are the photos I took of the gingerbread house they built:

They made the windows from melted Jolly Ranchers. I'm not sure how easy it is to manipulate melted hard candies, but these are seasoned hobbyists! The amount of details was astonishing. It took the family about a week to finish this project.

I was impressed by the fireplace. Those "rock candies" were chocolate pieces. The painting was a nice touch. Above all, my friends added details to each character in the house. Check out the rug!

The piano caught my attention. It was a convincing one. The Christmas tree and the presents looked great as well. I asked if they'd consider entering their creations into the Festival of Trees in 2024. I thought it would be for a good cause. They might do it, so we shall see.

What did we do with the gingerbread house after the Holidays?

We blew it up with a dry ice bomb during New Year's. It was only appropriate that we started the year with a bang! I was surprised that we managed a clean and complete destruction of the masterpiece in the backyard.

That is so cool. The time, effort, and love they put into that was amazing. I am totally impressed. We do gingerbread houses every year as a family, but they are very small. I agree, they need to enter into the Festival competition.

We shall see if they do it this year.

Wow
Your friend’s family is really creative for them to have done something like this. This is really fantastic and I love every bit of what you showed us
Nice one!

I would like to be there to see them working on it live next time.

The gingerbread house was well crafted out. Such creativity and beauty I must confess

It was great.

Wow, that is pretty impressive. I can't barely make two crackers stick together most the time. I would never have the patience to make something like that! I really like the checkerboard floor.

Haha I would have just eaten the candies.

The friends family did a creative job making the gingerbread house. This your post reminds me of Tyrion's comment in Game of Thrones about castles made of gingerbread and pools made of blackberry wine. Nonetheless the gingerbread house you've presented to us is amazing. Thanks for sharing and have a good day.

Haha I had totally forgotten that line in GoT.

Have a friend who is an architect and would go nuts with a project like this getting all technical jajajaj very creative, the presents are made of bread too? I dont think so with all the color patterns if so how they got the wrap design? this must have taken hours and nothing better than destroy it in seconds jajaj I remember doing that with Legos when I was a kid, can only imagine the amount of hours it took to put everything together ✌️

The presents were some kind of candies too. They did spend the time to wrap them.

I love your enthusiasm for your friends' home. I know it would be a nice time to be around them and I am sure it would be a great experience too. Were you told about the painting and how he arrived at that point?

Like how they made it?

Chocolate pieces made up the hollies stuck on a piece of cracker. The painting is just icing with food coloring.

Like how they made it?

Yeah.

Okay.. I am sure you enjoyed every bit of your time there?
