Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to present the crochet rose jewelry set.
I recently set out to make remarkable crochet accessories for a photoshoot and the first word that came to mind was “Rose”. I've come across many rose motif crochet accessories and I have loved each and every one of them.
To start off this accessories journey, I made crochet earrings and a choker; both rose themed. These two pieces of accessories were really easy to make but came out really beautiful. The interesting part of it all is the fact that both the earrings and the choker followed the same pattern. Without further ado, let me take you through the process of making this crochet rose jewelry set.
Materials Needed
- Black yarn
- 2.0mm and 4.0mm hook sizes
- A pair of scissors
- Darning needle
Procedure
Rose Choker🌹
First, I start by making a chain of 120 stitches. At the end of the chains, I yarn over, count four loops from the last loop and make a double crochet stitch into the fourth.
I make a chain of four and insert another double crochet stitch into the same space.
Again, I count four loops, make a double crochet into the fourth, make a chain of four and insert another double crochet stitch into the same space.
I basically repeat this pattern till I get to the sixtieth stitch. By the end of the sixtieth stitch, I have my loopy-base for the rose and I then proceed to attach the leaf-like patterns into every loop I just created. This loopy base had two loops;one on top and one below.
To proceed to the next step, I make a chain of two, turn my work and into the very first loop, I make five double crochet stitches, a chain one and another round of five double crochet stitches.
Into the loop below, I make just one single crochet stitch and then proceed to make another round of ten double crochet stitches separated in the middle by a one chain in the next loop above.
The chain one in the middle is basically to give the rose petals a pointy edge. If one doesn't want the pointy edge, they can avoid including the chain one entirely.
The pattern is: into the loop above, place five double crochet stitches, a chain one and another round of double crochet stitches. Into the loop below, place just one single crochet stitch. I repeated this pattern till I got to the end of the initial loop I made.
At the very end, I make a chain of sixty to serve as a string with which I would tie the choker around my neck. A really simple yet elegant design.
The next thing I do is wound the rose chain in a circular motion and finally, using a threaded darning needle, I gently and invisibly sew in the ends of the rose choker to hold everything together.
I gave it a nice and gentle tug and the rose choker was ready.
Crochet Earrings
I pretty much repeated the same pattern like in the choker but without the strings. So, instead of starting with a chain of one hundred and twenty, I started with sixty chains.
Using a 2.0mm crochet hook and a single strand of yarn, I made the rose earrings. I used a single strand of yarn so that the earrings could be as lightweight as possible. I was able to achieve this.
Once I finished seeing both accessories, I cut off the loose ends and they were both ready to be worn. A few days later, I wore them during a photoshoot, alongside the crochet rose bag I recently shared here.
I absolutely love how all of the accessories turned out when they were all combined together. What do you think?
