This is my first work using my old trusty polymer clay stock. I cannot describe to you guys how it feels to use these to make the cupcakes.
Suddenly, all I have to worry about is what am I going to create. The color choices, the color complements, combinations.
Cupcakes makes me happy. I find comfort in creating things that are familiar for me.
Anyway, I started by putting some white clay on my base mold.
I used my toothbrush to create the initial details.
Then used my chalk pastels to create some finer detail. You can shave these too. I did shaved them in some of my previous tutorials. Here, I just used a paint brush to just add a bit of a detail.
I am just playing around here guys so, I do not really see the reason to shave some pastels just for a few cupcakes.
I used my clay extruder to make the icing.
I pulled it a bit to create the final swirl. Again, there are a lot of ways on doing this but, this is my favourite. It is easier to control the frosting, less messy, nearly fool proof and, I can always remove, knead and start over again.
How it looks like......
I prebaked some sprinklers and, here is how they look. Slice them and just attach them to the cupcakes.
And you'll have something that looks like this. The whole process took me probably 20 minutes. That was fast on my standards considering all the adjustments I have to make on my old stock.
