He was in Villa de Cura last Saturday, November 29, accompanied by a group of professionals who made the Free Clinic for Goalkeepers and Coaches possible, where more than 80 children attended (goalkeepers only). The organization was also a collective effort by the Futuro de Venezuela Foundation, Amigos del Fútbol, and the Municipal Sports Institute (Imderza). Eddy himself stated that the “basic idea of this clinic is to see the goalkeeper population here; I didn’t know there were so many goalkeepers,” Vargas noted. He also mentioned that one of the aims is to “show professional goalkeeper trends, because as a child I never had that specific preparation for a goalkeeper, and today these kids have that great opportunity.” He further assured that it is very difficult to find specialist goalkeeper coaches in these towns, which creates a deficiency, especially in the basic fundamentals.
