Dear hivers, today my day was quite complicated, because work doesn't stop and obligations even less. I left home earlier than usual because my father had a consultation with the cardiologist and in order to do the exams before the consultation you have to go very early. Before his cardiologist used to see him closer to home, but now his office is a bit far away, in the Villa Rosa sector.
Queridos hivers, hoy mi día fue bastante complicado, porque el trabajo no para y las obligaciones menos. Salí de casa más temprano de lo habitual porque mi padre tenía consulta con el cardiólogo y para hacerle los exámenes antes de la consulta hay que ir bien temprano. Antes su cardiólogo consultaba más cerca de casa, pero en estos momentos su consulta está un poco distante, en el sector Villa Rosa.
Luckily for me, the weather was great and my husband was able to join us. That makes my father feel good and more relaxed. A few days ago his blood pressure was very high, but today it was under control, so I know that the company at the doctor's office does him a lot of good.
Por suerte para mí, el clima estaba estupendo y mi esposo pudo acompañarnos. Eso a mi padre le hace sentirse bien y más relajado. Días atrás tenía la tensión arterial muy alta, pero hoy estaba muy controlado, por eso sé que la compañía en la consulta le hace mucho bien.
Among stories and beautiful landscapes we arrived at the Emilio Delgado ambulatory, which is the Red Cross of the state of Nueva Esparta, but everyone knows it as “The Red Cross of Villa Rosa”. The truth is that I can't complain about the attention; the exams are a little expensive but the attention is very good and the results and diagnoses are very accurate.
Entre cuentos y hermosos paisajes llegamos al ambulatorio Emilio Delgado, que es la Cruz Roja del estado Nueva Esparta, pero todos lo conocen como “La Cruz Roja de Villa Rosa”. La verdad es que no me puedo quejar por la atención; los exámenes son un poco costosos pero la atención es muy buena y los resultados y diagnósticos son muy certeros.
My father was very tense at first, but then he relaxed and began to talk to the doctor very well, as if he were in his living room at home. The doctor decided to put him on a holter, which for those who do not know it, is a device to measure the heart rate and blood pressure for a period of time, in order to know the behavior of the person's body and to be able to give him an accurate treatment. My father was fitted with it and tomorrow it will be removed and he will be fitted with the new plan to control his blood pressure and heart rate. The doctor said that for his 82 years he is physically very well.
Mi padre al principio estaba muy tenso, pero después se relajó y comenzó a hablar con el doctor muy bien, como si estuviera en la sala de su casa. El doctor determinó colocarle un holter, que para los que no lo conocen, es un dispositivo para medir la frecuencia cardíaca y la tensión por un periodo de tiempo, para así saber el comportamiento del cuerpo de la persona y poder colocarle un tratamiento certero. A mi padre se lo colocaron y mañana se le retirará para colocarle el nuevo plan para controlar la tensión y su ritmo cardíaco. El médico dijo que para sus 82 años físicamente está muy bien.
We left very pleased and my father very calm, because he knows he is in very good hands. So we took our way back to make the delivery of the bills at the hotel. It is something I usually do alone, but since we all walk together, we take the opportunity to appreciate the urban landscapes that the island always has to show.
Nos fuimos muy complacidos y mi padre bien tranquilo, porque sabe que está en muy buenas manos. Así que tomamos nuestro camino de vuelta para hacer la entrega de las facturas en el hotel. Es algo que por lo general hago sola, pero como andamos todos juntos, aprovechamos para apreciar los paisajes urbanos que siempre tiene la isla para mostrar.
I handed in my bills and we continued on our way. We passed by Andorza Manrique street with the idea of having something to eat because we were already past lunch time, but some of the stores were very crowded and others were closed. Anyway, we went home to prepare something to eat.
Entregué mis facturas y continuamos ya tranquilos. Pasamos por la calle Andorza Manrique con la idea de comer algo porque ya habíamos pasado del horario de almuerzo, pero los locales estaban muy llenos algunos y otros cerrados. En fin, nos fuimos para la casa para preparar algo para comer.
Everything we set out to solve today we were able to accomplish, although we ended up exhausted, but we were very satisfied.
When we got home, we set out to prepare a quick but nutritious meal, so we could rest a bit, and we could not miss a juice of freshly harvested tangerines from my father's backyard.
Todo lo que salimos a resolver hoy pudimos lograrlo, aunque terminamos agotados, pero estábamos muy satisfechos.
Al llegar a casa, nos dispusimos a preparar una comida rápida pero nutritiva, para poder descansar un poco, y no podía faltar un jugo de mandarinas recién cosechadas del patio de casa de mi padre.
Today was very profitable and productive, I accompanied my father in his consultation and we were able to deliver the invoices without any setback.
