El 7 de junio de 1821 nació Antonio Bachiller y Morales uno de los más insignes intelectuales cubanos: prolífico periodista, historiador, abogado y bibliógrafo, considerado como el padre de la bibliografía cubana.
En homenaje a este intelectual, este día se celebra el Día del Bibliotecario Cubano.
On June 7, 1821, Antonio Bachiller y Morales was born, one of the most distinguished Cuban intellectuals: prolific journalist, historian, lawyer and bibliographer, considered the father of Cuban bibliography.
In homage to this intellectual, this day is celebrated as the Day of the Cuban Librarian.
