Hello to my fellow night owls, it's my pleasure to make my first post here. What a special place to share our thoughts in the silence of the nights.
Before anything else, here is a glimpse of my night routine. I sleep most times between 8 pm to 9 pm, and once it's 12 am to 1 am, I'm up again. I can be awake until 4 am, then probably fall back to sleep before 5 am when I would be ready to start my day. Have I ever been like this? Never. I used to be a sleepyhead 🥱 all night until I started my motherhood journey over three years ago. My sleeping routine changed significantly during my pregnancy, and when my baby arrived, it's only at night I can truly be alone without any form of disturbance. Lucky for me, my husband doesn’t keep up at night, which I kind of like. During these hours is when my creativity is at its best, and these are the hours I figured serious things out without any form of interruption. Don't worry, I do make up for the sleep during the day when I need to.
Have I got some midnight gams? Oh yes, tag along and let me tell you all about it.
I keep saying this: there are special gems you will find from time to time when you constantly engage on Hive.
It could be an author’s story that inspires you so much it feels like someone lit a fire inside of you, which makes you feel like you can conquer the world. That is one of the beauties of Hive—real stories that captivate the heart and make you return to this space. It really feels special hehe.
This is what I can say about the midnight I found these rare gem post packed with beautiful songs, written by @becca-mac. Her post wasn't just packed with meaningful songs that would make you want to stop time and get lost in its amazement, but accompanied by a great love story that could make you want to fall in love again.
On this night, it's around 1 30 am over here, and while I'm enjoying the stillness and quietness of the night, some of Becca’s playlist comes through, blessing my soul, and I thought I should share it with my fellow night owls 🦉 in midnight letter.
I will just go ahead and talk about two of them, and I hope you guys can relate to the songs and enjoy them as much as I do.
Against the Wind by Bob Seger
This song reminds me of a saying in my language that says, "One can only run after this life, but no one ever catches life." Isn't it true that we came to meet this world, and when our time is up, we shall leave the world behind?
Aren’t we all running against the wind? From the moment we are born—learning to walk, learning to speak, trying to achieve our life purpose, finding a life partner, starting and building our own family—until our end, there is always something we want to achieve as long as we are here. Even sometimes when we lose our way, then try to find our way once again, we are always running against the wind.
This is an old song released in 1980 but still very relevant in today’s world. Beautiful sound, with lyrics that hit home. Bob Seger in this song captures perfectly the true meaning of adult life.
The other one is from Bryan Adams called Heaven
That will be all for tonight. Bye for now until some other time.
