RE: What is "Partial Funding"? I want some!

in Synergy Builders24 days ago

I'm honestly surprised Whales are not using this partial funding strategy. One of the most unique features of DHF is that we don't have to fund a project in an all or nothing manner. Even the daily ask is divided into 24 parts if I remember correctly. They could vote to fund you buy few hundred dollars. You should bring out this idea more during your Deep Web3 Secrets episodes. I really wish you get funded. You have already provided a great deal of value.

Great point! Yes I notice that even the dailies seem to be dripping, I will for sure break down many of the things I have been "demytifying" on more podcasts!

We need to change the DHF conversations from "Yes/No" to "How much?" and I don't know of any other DAO fund that can do this. We have to embrace and play to our strengths. We use partial votes on posts all the time. We can do the same with DHF Proposals.

Would you like to be a guest on a podcast? If not, who can you think of that would be a good champion for this "partial funding" demystification?

I don't think I will do great as a podcasting guest. May I suggest asking @thedessertlinux to take a look around as an outsider. He has the exact kind of values I want to support and I have been a massive fan of him since 2017. Take a look at his blog or short form content on https://inleo.io/profile/thedessertlinux or hundreds of podcasts he has done.

Joël is experienced enough to know all the basics of HIVE without being too deep in this. What we may consider obvious and easy could end up being perplexing for some. On the other hand, a total newbie might not even keep up with what we are trying to do and may think in the lines of "unfamiliar = bad design". A fly on the wall is the best IMHO.

PS:

I have heard of him, and that guy can TALK for sure!

Hopefully he responds to your ping, let's see, if not I can activate some backchannels.

Sure, always happy to talk. I've been in DAOs for 9 years and have a few partial funding situations going on at the moment too.
