As you might know, we have been onboarding people here in Guatemala, a steady stream of different types of people move through this hotel-restaurant-bar complex, and we get to talk to all of them!
And our side quest - invite them to have a "free beer or Kambucha" by signing up with CheckInWith.XYZ and one of our several trusted onboarders. There are many ways to "get them an account", including of course by paying 3 HIVE tokens to do so.
But generally, "they are free" to create - as long as you have enough RCs. The price in RCs to claim accounts is dynamic, and has been going up. Yes, accounts are getting more expensive:

What's the workflow?
We have been using app.HOLAhive.com in Guadalajara and Colombia, well its one of the only tools around Hive that actually speaks Spanish - but even in Guadalajara @manuphotos was talking about an easier way - that of Hive Keychain "onboard with a friend". I'm slow to do new things, and keychain doesn't speak Spanish - but after @ninaeatshere insisted, I really just had to try it - luckily its almost everyday that each of us is onboarding one or more people: lots of chances to iterate and practice.
So long story short - this "onboard a friend" is very easy, and keychain automatically has the (3) keys inside the wallet, hopefully they still saved the owner key, although its a bit easier to miss now, but not too bad if you take them through it slow (although I have seen people clicking AS FAST AS THEY POSSIBLY CAN to get through this process and get the beer 🤣).
Its so easy that some members of the team were paying 3 HIVE to do it that way.
I have advanced blockchain magic - BEHOLD
Somehow this didn't sit right with me. Account claim tokens are not transferable, I can't just give them to my wife - no matter how much she wants to be like all the other cool kids and use the Keychain Onboard a Friend method. But I have another way - and its only really possible now with our RC claimer tool - this advanced technique is NOT POSSIBLE in peakd.
First I delegate lots of RC to the account, and then I send them to RC.thecrazygm.com - where you can check not only the cost of claiming account tokens, but also claim multiple no matter how much HP the account has.
@retolima claimed three, and used 2 of them the very same day. I pull back the delegation, and then send the account another 50b RCs - I have been testing this - RC delegations comeback immediately, but they always come back empty, and seem to also take any unspent RCs with them from the account. So there is some timing, but another small RC delegation is an easy fix. And now we have account creation tokens on ANY account - even your burner keychain mobile account for travelling around urban areas in Latin America.
And now that I have this workflow down and tested - I will be working with @starkerz to get the entire onboarding team account claim tokens using the extra RCs on some bigger accounts - our workflow and toolbox continues to improve around HIVE; maybe not as fast or as organized as we want it, but such is open source - and I love it.
