With that off my chest, today I want to talk about something I think is really cool, and something I have heard people talk about in theory - second-layer monetization/incentivation. Sure my @ecoinstant HP might be low - but that doesn't mean I can't distribute rewards!
So, I'm a whale...
And, while there are certain notifications in the game that I think are interesting to dedicate some HP voting power too - I have been having A LOT OF FUN rewarding current active players in MOON with ONEUP tokens for big battles taking place around our universe, which are visible on our Hall of Fame.
While no one was looking, I snuck around the hive-engine markets and accumulated 12.3% of the total supply of ONEUP tokens, or maybe even ~5% more than that since it seems that @null is considered in this screenshot. I staked them all and I am eagerly giving out ONEUP rewards to our players - I am excited to one day see them on our notifications page, but I am still figuring out what is the right API (call) to be able to do that; it might be easy but I really haven't had the time to ask the right questions in the right places.
I seem to be earning solid curation rewards from them - which makes me pretty confident that the players are getting rewarded, and that soon I should be able to "see it", and "show it".
And when I started looking into it - it does seem that https://1up.crypto-dreamr.com/@moon.records/comments is showing the rewards just fine! This is good news! Even if the individual permlink pages don't seem to be showing: https://1up.crypto-dreamr.com/@moon.records/hivenova-report-uufpnuydsk ; we can look into this and make sure we are doing the correct calls in NectarEngine - and possibly update the open source outpost front end for everyone.
There is always work to do!
So even when "playing" - and I am having a lot of fun - I am being productive and moving forward in a way that could be useful to everyone, could be moving the entire ecosystem of possibilities forward. MOON is not only fun for us - its an onramp to HIVE before getting an account. ONEUP is not only a tribe that I was able to peacefully gain a lot of stake in - its an excuse to use, test and improve our nectarEngine package for hive-engine.
Additionally, in this post about ONEUP - I can mention now a few things I did to "establish a connection" between MOON and ONEUP. MOON, as we all know - uses the PIZZA token. Well well well, what have we here:
The biggest current pool for ONEUP token - and on par with the other big PIZZA pools, this "old" pool was mostly abandoned when I found it - one of the reasons I identified such promise in both ONEUP and PIZZA tokens, finding them to be potentially undervalued, was precisely because of this "infrastructure cost" already paid - so many pools for these tokens!
And the synergies are obvious, if you ask me.
ONEUP, and its governance token CARTEL - are "not dead yet!". @flauwy is still around, and he has worked with me to integrate several things now, in my efforts to fix things up a bit and integrate ONEUP into our "blockchain-optional" game (MOON). The CARTEL is small right now, but we are alive - the infrastructure is paid for, based on open source software - so theoretically as long as there are active users, active people who "care", we can keep building and keep iterating.
The CARTEL members, and ONEUP development in general, may not look very active right now. Each "tribe" has its own story, it works how "they" decided it would work - whenever whoever "they" is decided it would work when they paid the BEE and set it up. Some seem more alive than others - but in general, all the open source pieces are still "working". And ONEUP is alive because we are alive, and we have decided to use it in our game as well. I have become the biggest staker - and my good friend @abrockman is right behind me.
These things are alive because we are using them - like anything else in this life, a project is "as alive" as its community is! And we "just keep building".
