This is one of the most enlightened teachings that I've come across in a while, you see when catastrophe happens we tend to blame every body except ourselves.....
how does one get addicted to things, not only drugs in this case but a vaste variety of anything in life, many atimes we allow things to take over us and this negative habit really have some effect in our body's, in the case of drugs which is very harmful to our cells and organ, yet since the body is conditioned to adapt to any environment it founds itself at first it would reject and fight it but sooner or later the body looses control of fighting it, that's when this effects of whatever it is began to show, in us because the body has fallen to it, it will destroys the cells and organ and most importantly these will really show forth in our old age.
some times addiction gradually takes over us without we knowing, we think we're in control untill we become restless without it, addiction is never good, because its gently destroys the body one step at a time.
the truth is it's very hard to over come addiction, even if you start praying for God's help he will only answer that prayer when you consciously take steps to stop whatever it is you're doing. in most cases people who can admit that they need help are sent to rehap centers to under go certain procedures to become well, its an intentional and purposeful effort to overcome addiction and that result can never be achieved without determination to do so
the holy spirit is also available to help us when we are broken, he will intervene in our lives if we humble ourselves enough to call on him ....
