We should never joke with the will of God. How our future would look like it's dependent on our obedience or disobedience to the Will of God. A lot of tragedies we sometimes face in life could have been averted only of we stuck to the Word of God instead doing our own thing or what other people suggested to us.
In everything concerning our lives God has in mind how he wants use to go about it. Be it our marriage, education, career, and so on. God is interested in every aspect of our lives and only He can tell us the right path that if we should go we won't end up regretting it.
Our Christianity is questionable if we refuse to obey the will of God.
John 14:15 KJV
If ye love me, keep my commandments
Our love God is far beyond words. It is practical. And one of the ways we practicalize it, according to the passage above, is by keeping His commandments. By doing so we prove that our love for God is genuine.
