If we wish to live long and happy, we must prioritize and simplify our lives. If we don't, we'll find ourselves overwhelmed by the issues of life. Remember, we came into this world naked and we'll leave the same way. When we understand the true meaning of life, we'll simplify life, informed by the fact that we don't really need much to live in this world.
Jesus himself said in Luke 12:15;
And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
He also asked in Mark 8:36;
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
Jesus Christ had access to everything, yet He chose and lived humbly for the benefit of humanity. When we say Jesus became poor so that we might be rich, we often focus on material (wealth) aspect but the real lesson is that, just as He laid down His life for us, He wants us to lay down our lives for others. Apostle Paul said we should live in such a way that others won't stumble because of our lifestyle.
God promises to provide for our basic needs—food, clothing, shelter etc, just as seen in Matthew 6:25-34. All we have to do is trust Him and He will take care of us.
