There is something I learned sometime ago, which is making a research or a second check of all that we have been told or been taught. When we are told something, it is always better to have a second check.
At the same time, when it comes to the words in the Bible, we don’t even need to put a second check to it because we must have felt the Holy Spirit and we already know that the Holy Spirit is real.
It is normal to believe in your ancestors but so many times, it betrays the truth. How will you even be sure that your ancestor has taught or told you the right thing to do.
Matthew 17:5 says; While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
Here, we are talking about Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the only one whom God has sent to talk to us about God and also spread the gospel. So, I see no reason why you will hear what your ancestor has said especially when it is opposite of what the Bible has said.
You see that many times or sometimes, we should not believe in our ancestors?
It’s not like your ancestors may really want to lead you astray or teach you the wrong thing. They may not just be familiar or know the right thing which the Bible has said so they may be wrong.
At the same time, your ancestor may be right but for you to know if they are right, check the Bible. Be sure that your ancestors are saying the exact thing which the Bible has said.
Should you believe your ancestors? Yes but make your findings.
