RE: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Japanese History (But Were Afraid to Ask)

in Cross Culture28 days ago

Many thanks for this post and tagging me! I will bookmark this post for future reference.

I believe you mentioned that you live a bit far from central Tokyo so I didn’t reach out if you wanted to meet. It’s a weeknight tonight and I know you have work tomorrow so wouldn’t have probably worked for you anyways. I am here in Shinjuku tonight but I fly out of HND tomorrow.

I am 100% positive that this is the first of many trips so I will make sure that I will make time to meet next time.

In fact I will try to do Sakura next spring:) :) I know it is probably a bad idea but I have to see it sometime!

Yeah, I'm closer to Nagoya. Hopefully we can meet up next time you come. Let me know anyway and I'll see if I can manage. You're right... coming in the spring is insane. haha. But the sakura are very beautiful so it could be worth the trouble.

Hope you had an amazing time here!

By the way, why people never talk about Japanese curry? You know eating curry in the morning with rice and egg was an Indian tradition that I have long forgotten! I know this is a generic store at the rail station so I am sure there are many better ones.

But man that is delicious! Reminded me of my early college days!!

Japanese curry rice is something else, absolutely. It has the image of junk food, which is likely why the Japanese don't talk about it more, but it's probably one of the most popular foods here, with housewives making it at least once a week in their food rotation. Great stuff!

Junk food or not, it’s fabulous stuff! I can eat this stuff all day everyday! :)

Yes, Japanese curry is very tasty, especially with a side of ebi!
