What a cool story. It does serve as testament of how fiat money is worthless. I also have quite a large collection of Brazilian notes (might write about it; you inspired me). We were never under war since becoming a Republic, but still managed to fuck up every-single-currency. We had 10 currencies since 1889! They added zeros, removed zeros, added cents, removed cents, changed name, returned to the previous name. Total craziness
