RE: Collection of my memory and World War II banknotes

Wow, what a treasure trove of history there. So many significant layers to that story.

What a wonderful memory of your childhood and your grandfather.

I read that with both fascination and a bittersweet emotion, feeling sorrow that he fell ill and died before he got to tell you the story.

Imagine being in his position during that time, and to be able to come out of it, not only unscathed- on the outside anyway..., but to come through it actually educated enough to overcome the many other obstacles he would have faced at the time to be able to prosper, both personally and financially, acquiring what I imagine to be a pretty unique life story...

I am so glad that you found them, that you had that connection with him- as vague as it was then, it has grown stronger, simply because of that find.

And when you think about it, the fact that the Germans had mobile printing machines to print on demand, was quite futuristic and also quite diabolical of them, having that ability to 'look like they were doing the right thing whilst simultaneously ripping everyone off'

Actually you're right, it does sound very familiar and current...

And yes, what a year that was- 1984, remember it like was yesterday..and time has flown by so fast, it almost could have been just yesterday..🤣

I've still got ht record- 1884 It's a Winner
