Hi vegan friends! It's my first time posting here and I'm excited to share with you a dish that's been on my mind lately.

‎This one is a quick and easy vegan dish that's perfect for busy days.

‎I actually thought of this dish when I fried saging na saba, and a bit of fried garlic was added.

‎And to my surprise, the two flavors matched so well!

‎The sweetness of the banana and the aroma of garlic created a delicious combo that I couldn't stop thinking about.

‎So out of curiosity, I searched online to see if there was an existing dish like it, and guess what? There actually is!

‎It's called tostones, a dish that originated in Latin America.

‎They usually use green plantains, but since we have saging na saba here in the Philippines, I thought of using it.

‎Ingredients:

‎4 saba bananas
‎2-3 cloves garlic
‎Salt to taste
‎Cooking oil for frying

Cooking Procedure:

‎I started by peeling saba bananas and slicing them into about 1-inch thick rounds.

Then I soaked them in water with minced garlic for a few minutes. That's the way to infuse the garlicky flavor.

After that, I heated some oil and fried the saba slices until they turned golden brown.

‎Once done, I took them out and flattened each piece using a glass (you can also use a spatula or anything flat you have at home).

‎Then, I fried them again until they became perfectly crispy and golden!

To finish it off, I sauteed sliced garlic until it was lightly brown, tossed it with the fried saba, and sprinkled some salt on top!

That's it! Simple and flavorful.

‎You can dip it in ketchup or even mayo, depending on your mood.

‎Actually, while munching on these Pinoy Tostones, I suddenly thought of it as an alternative to chips.

‎If you love crunchy snacks, especially those addictive junk foods out there, you need to try this one!

‎It's healthy, has no preservatives, and no MSG.

‎Until my next healthy chips...

Thanks for the visit! Have a lovely day. Buh-bye. 💗🌸

Hi @mayt

This recipe looks crunchy and delicious, however, there's something important: You haven't complied with our community guidelines, specifically rule number 6, which states:

Every user new to Hive, or new to Plant Power (Vegan), must include a minimum of three photos showing their face (of the total number of photos in each post), making their recipes.

So we encourage you to read them carefully.

NOTE: This also applies to the Foodies Bee Hive and Amazing Drinks communities

Hello @sirenahippie... Thank you for letting me know, and I apologize for not following the guidelines. But, can I ask where I can read your community guidelines? I searched for it before posting, but I didn't find any. Happy to read it and comply before posting again my next vegan recipes.

If you're working from a PC or laptop, you'll see them on the right side of your screen, at the top of the community page.

If you're working from a smartphone, you'll see them in the ABOUT tab.

Find it, and read it already. Thank you for guiding me. I usually use ecency, that's why I didn't see it there. The about section is on Peakd. ☺️
