Something I really like is reading. Over time, this habit has brought very useful things to my life.
One of them is learning quickly. When I was in private college, I had to memorize a lot, something I found somewhat difficult. So, reading was my greatest ally. With it, I could completely learn a subject. The best thing about it is that I didn't forget it.
And another thing, which is also part of learning, is reflecting on life. For me, there's no better way to learn, understand, and change habits than by reading.
So, today I'm telling you about these books that have been important to me, which have contributed a lot to my life, and I hope they will do so in yours as well.

The Bible
Something peculiar happens to me with this book. It has the book of Proverbs, where I get scoldings for free.

The Starbucks Way: How to Create a Home Away from Home by John Simmons
If you have a business, a startup, or are simply a customer who goes out and shops, it's a good idea to read it.
The Starbucks Way is a book for everyone. Although its clear focus on the business world is evident, as you dive in, you realize how broad it is.
As a worker...
It shows you what you shouldn't allow. I couldn't help but think about my job at that moment. I finished reading it while waiting for my Covid vaccine.
At the time, I was working in an office where I didn't feel comfortable.
And this book made me realize I needed to change jobs, go to a place where they valued human talent, where I had a decent salary, and where the treatment of staff was adequate.
I feel it partially opened my eyes, because it shows employees as a fundamental part of any company.
If you have a business or are starting one...
My goal has always been the same: to have my own company, to be my own boss.
Thanks to this book, I realized many important things: mistakes that are often made, how to solve them, how to scale your business.
And something very interesting about it supported what I thought: Don't make the mistakes they made with me as an employee.
Because you're wasting talent and generating unnecessary expenses by not using that valuable resource you have, which are the people who work side by side with you.
If I Stay by Gayle Forman
It's a shame I don't have this work in physical form. I read it digitally in PDF format when I was a teenager.
It definitely captivated me and made me cry a lot, because we are so ungrateful for life!
It makes you think about life, about whether we really value every second, and the people around us.
It'll probably break your heart to read it, but it's worth the shock to realize a few things.

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
I can say this is my favorite; I've read it a couple of times, and I don't think I'll stop.
At public university, a professor kept recommending it to us. So one day I said, "Let's read it, see what it's like."
And I don't regret it. I liked it so much that I made a YouTube short about it. I think everyone should read it.
This book, like the others, teaches you about life, telling it in a fantastic story, and showing you that missing piece.
I believe that God's timing is perfect, and that the moment I read this was when I needed it most. It gave me that little push I needed to get things done.
That's all, but it's not the end
These are just a few of the books I've read. However, there are more I hope to read soon. And I'll definitely tell you about them.
Notes:
- I read all the books I recommend in Spanish, which is why every physical book I own is in that language.
- I don't have the physical version of If I Stay by Gayle Forman, so I got the cover from the PDF version.
- My Bible is the Reina Valera 1960.
Text of my authorship.
