El autor nos lleva a su terreno desde las primeras páginas, donde presenta una crítica, que nadie lee en este país. Ciertamente, leer es entender a plenitud el mensaje y no solamente pasar la mirada por las palabras. La estrategia de Sandoval no es original, buena parte de la obra del maestro Jorge Luis Borges se sustenta sobre lo metaficcional, pero acá la novedad consiste en amalgamar el universo sobrenatural de H.P. Lovecraft con la realidad venezolana.
De esta forma El círculo de Lovecraft nos sumerge en un abismo de poder y maldad donde los personajes no muestran ningún escrúpulo a la hora de acceder a lo desconocido para involucrarse con seres oscuros. Puede resultar desconcertante para lectores acostumbrados a otro tipo de literatura, pero aquellos con nociones en el género del suspenso y del terror disfrutarán de la estructura y la historia ya que se busca la participación activa del espectador, es decir, su complicidad, para que otorgue sentido a lo expuesto.
