RE: Dickens and the Irony of 'Great Expectations' || Review [Eng/Esp]

in Hive Book Club11 days ago

Wow, what a complete review! The truth is that I have never read it, I have always seemed one of those intimidating classics, you know? But the way you describe it makes it sound super interesting and even easy to connect with it. I was very struck by what you mention about how the title is ironic and how PIP realizes that money and status do not give it happiness. It is a message that is still so relevant today. Thanks for such a detailed recommendation! I'm going to look for it.

No, not at all. It’s not an intimidating classic—it’s very easy to read. The beginning takes you by the hand and never lets go... the novel is truly beautiful. Maybe it’s because I’m a bit of a romantic, but I adore it.
