Good evening buzzers! It's so close to the end of the year that I can almost taste it! Only one more shift to go, and then I get to spend a couple of days enjoying the sloth! Do people still make New Year plans? The local celebration has been called off due to the foreboding weather moving in.
I'm sure there will still be a lot of small gatherings and the occasional crackpot setting off some fireworks. However, it seems there is no longer the same sense of community and festivities. Once upon a time, neighbours would visit each other's houses, wishing a jolly new year and move on to the next to continue the drinking and festivities.
I think these days, people would be shocked if there was a random knock at the door and a neighbour crossed the threshold, even if they were bearing gifts (usually a bottle of whisky)
One Scottish tradition was the 'first footing', or first foot in. A 'tall, dark, handsome' sloth would be the first to enter a house after the midnight bells to ward in good times and luck! Being a tall, dark, handsome sloth myself, yes, I do say so myself, this tradition is something we should bring back! If nothing else, I can get some free whisky for the New Year! Yes, I mean whisky, like scotch whisky, not whiskey; however, as the night goes on, any will do!
That said, if I don't shift this cold that I'm currently battling, the only bottle I'll have is a hot water bottle in bed! Along with the threat of high winds, cold temperatures and possibly inches of snow, this new year could be one of the dreariest in memory!
It's been a rather sloth year on Hive for me; I'm looking forward to the first power-up of the year to see how I really performed, although, now I'm thinking about it, I guess I should have a little peek and see! I know I've underperformed in a lot of ways since setting my Hive goals for 2024, but I'm hopeful 2025 will bring better results! As long as I continue to buzz and fight off the sloth, I should be good!
I've made just under $650 throughout my time on Hive, about 3 years. I'll dig deeper into it and track my stats against the start of the year in the upcoming days. Hive is a get-rich...slow scheme! One step at a time, a sloth here and a buzz there and we're laughing! If nothing else, I'm enjoying the ability to make content and create some friends along the way, although, this past year, it seems more have left Hive than buzzed through it. I guess I also had a hiatus which changed up some relationships here.
I rather enjoy using AI for image generation, it really breaks up the post. Although, it seems they're still unable to produce effective text in images. Wishing you a 2025 happy indeed!
