Greetings, dear community of Shadow Hunters, the month of October is almost over, but at least we have this last week left, which will be Halloween Eve, and I hope to achieve my goals for this last quarter of the year just before celebrating Halloween. In the meantime I had to go to my faculty, this time to attend a doctoral thesis defense of a colleague with whom I started the degree, so it was a special day, and indeed it was a morning with a radiant sun and it was there where I found this imposing shadow that I wanted to share for this Smash contest in its round #397.
Now, what caused this huge shadow projected across almost an entire block? Well, it's the large mural in the Faculty of Sciences, which was recently restored and looks wonderful because everyone who lives in this faculty knows the profound meaning it holds for us, and seeing it again in all its splendor is at least a positive aspect amidst the many difficulties we are going through.

That's why every time I enter the faculty and am greeted by this large mural, it's always an encouragement to keep going. We see some of that grandeur reflected in the projection of its long shadow, which for me is an allegory of the long path of transformation that every student who enters this faculty goes through, a transformation toward maturity and the professional field.
And this was my entry in this week's Smash contest, dear community. This is another one of those shadows I've been hunting for a long time, but it turns out that teaching is just one of my three jobs at the university. The other two are research and outreach, so I'm not usually at the faculty all day. So this was a happy coincidence, a moment I wanted to capture for all of you. See you next week. Best regards!

Saludos apreciada comunidad de Shadow Hunters ya se nos va el mes de octubre, pero al menos nos queda esta última semana que será la víspera de halloween y espero concretar mis metas de este último trimestre del año justo antes de celebrar la noche de brujas. Mientras tanto he tenido que asistir a mi facultad, esta vez para atender a una defensa de tesis doctoral de una colega con quien empecé la carrera, así que era un día especial, y en efecto era una mañana con un sol radiante y fue allí donde me conseguí con esta imponente sombra que he querido compartir para este concurso Smash en su round #397.
Ahora, qué generó esta gran sombra proyectada en casi una cuadra completa? Bien, pues se trata del gran mural de la Facultad de Ciencias que fue recientemente restaurada y luce maravilloso porque para todo aquel que hace vida en esta facultad sabe el profundo significado que tiene para nosotros y verlo nuevamente en todo su esplendor es al menos un aspecto positivo dentro de tantas dificultades por las que estamos atravesando.

Por eso cada que entro a la facultad y soy recibido por este gran mural siempre es un estímulo para seguir adelante, algo de esa imponencia lo vemos reflejado en la proyección de su larga sombra que para mi es una alegoría del largo camino de transformación por el que pasa cada estudiante que entra a esta facultad, una transformación a la madurez y al campo profesional.
Y esta fue mi participación en el concurso Smash de esta semana apreciada comunidad, esta es otra de esas sombras que estaba cazando desde hace mucho pero pasa que la docencia es apenas 1 de mis tres trabajos en la universidad, los otros 2 son de investigación y extensión así que no suelo estar todo el día en la facultad, así que esta fue una feliz coincidencia, un momento que quise capturar para todos ustedes.
