I wish you a start of the week full of renewing energy to face the days of work to come.
Last weekend was marked by varied weather. It has been raining a bit and the previous days have been gray and somewhat cloudy, although there was always a faint ray of sunshine, to remind us that even in the dullest days there is a ray of light.
I took advantage of these days at home to organize some pending things and dedicate myself to rest, indispensable to finish recovering completely from my kidneys.
On Sunday afternoon, we decided that it was time to go out a little, because being cooped up for too long is not the healthiest thing either. The idea was simply to distract ourselves, but also to take the opportunity to look for one of my father's missing medicines. It is one of those medicines that are not easy to find, which can be a bit frustrating, but we wanted to give it a try. We usually shop at the pharmacy in La Asuncion, but this time they didn't have it, so we decided to look elsewhere as we walked around part of the city.

El pasado fin de semana estuvo marcado por un clima variado. Ha estado lloviendo un poco y los días anteriores han sido grises y un tanto nublados, aunque siempre se asomaba algún rayo tenue de sol, para recordar que incluso en los días más apagados hay un rayo de luz.
Aproveché estos días en casa para organizar algunas cosas pendientes y dedicarme al reposo, indispensable para terminar de recuperarme completamente de los riñones.
El domingo por la tarde, decidimos que ya era momento de salir un poco, porque estar demasiado tiempo encerrados tampoco es lo más saludable. La idea era simple distraernos, pero también aprovechar para buscar uno de los medicamentos que le faltan a mi padre. Es uno de esos medicamentos que no son fáciles de encontrar, lo cual puede ser un tanto frustrante, pero queríamos intentarlo. Generalmente compramos en la farmacia de La Asunción, pero esta vez no lo tenían, así que decidimos buscar en otros lugares mientras recorríamos parte de la ciudad.
Although the weather remained cloudy, the landscapes I managed to capture with my lens were truly beautiful. The sky was paved with clouds, forming unique patterns that acquired a wonderful color. It was as if nature was compensating for the lack of sunshine with its own work of art.
Aunque el clima continuaba nublado, los paisajes que logré capturar con mi lente eran verdaderamente hermosos. El cielo estaba empedrado de nubes, formando patrones únicos que adquirían un color maravilloso. Era como si la naturaleza compensara la falta de sol con su propia obra de arte.
Upon arriving in the city, the urban landscapes blended with nature in a whimsical way, giving us the view of the oak trees of Margarita, or Guayacanes, in full bloom. This time of the year is perfect to admire their splendor, and I could not resist taking several pictures to share so that you could also appreciate them.
Al llegar a la ciudad, los paisajes urbanos se mezclaban con la naturaleza de una manera caprichosa, regalándonos la vista de los robles margariteños, o Guayacanes, en plena floración. Esta época del año es perfecta para admirar su esplendor, y no pude resistirme a tomar varias fotografías para compartir y que ustedes también pudieran apreciarlos.
On our way back from the city, we decided to stop by the Sambil shopping mall. This place has a well-stocked Farmatodo, and since we had not found my father's medicine in the city, we thought it was worth a try there. To our good fortune, they had it. It was a bit expensive, but necessary to keep my father's health stable. It was a huge relief, and I confess that I felt very happy and calm knowing that we had what he needed.
De regreso de la ciudad, decidimos pasar por el centro comercial Sambil. Este lugar tiene un Farmatodo muy bien surtido, y como en la ciudad no habíamos encontrado el medicamento de mi padre, pensamos que valía la pena intentarlo allí. Para nuestra suerte, lo tenían. Era un poco costoso, pero necesario para mantener la salud de mi padre estable. Fue un alivio enorme, y confieso que me sentí muy contenta y tranquila al saber que contábamos con lo que él necesitaba.
Before we left the mall, we passed by the McDonald's snack bars, which my husband loves so much. Since it was a Sunday afternoon, there was only one more of mantecado left, but that didn't detract one bit from the flavor. It's so creamy and delicious that we enjoyed it anyway. As we savored our barquillas, we walked leisurely back to the car, enjoying the moment as we watched our simple tour flow.
Antes de marcharnos del centro comercial, pasamos cerca de las barquillas de McDonald's, que tanto le gustan a mi esposo. Como era domingo por la tarde, ya solo quedaba de mantecado, pero eso no le restó ni un poco de sabor. Es tan cremoso y delicioso que lo disfrutamos igual. Mientras saboreamos nuestras barquillas, caminamos tranquilamente hacia el auto, disfrutando del momento viendo cómo fluyó nuestro simple recorrido.
On the way home, the sky was beginning to acquire those gray hues that make the landscape even more beautiful. It was a simple afternoon, but full of little moments that, together, made it special. We solved something important, like getting the medicine, and added a sweet touch with the delicious waffles, which is always a good end to any day.
Ya de camino a casa, el cielo comenzaba a adquirir esos matices grises que embellecen aún más el paisaje. Fue una tarde sencilla pero llena de pequeños momentos que, juntos, la hicieron especial. Resolvíamos algo importante, como conseguir el medicamento, y añadimos un toque dulce con las deliciosas barquillas, lo cual es siempre un buen final para cualquier jornada.
