This week has been really intense in terms of work, especially for the guys, although for me the real fatigue comes from the constant exposure to the sun and the worry that something might happen. As I mentioned before, we are carrying out repair work on the drinking water tanks at the Sunsol Ecoland hotel.
Esta semana ha sido realmente intensa en cuanto al trabajo, especialmente para los muchachos, aunque para mí la verdadera fatiga proviene de la exposición constante al sol y de la preocupación de que algo pueda suceder. Como ya les mencioné antes, estamos llevando a cabo trabajos de reparación en los tanques de agua potable del hotel Sunsol Ecoland.
The tank we are working on is huge, with a capacity of two million liters. Its size is impressive and, because of this, the guys had to get inside it to carry out the repair work. We have adequate safety measures and instrumentation in place to ensure the safety of the equipment, but even so, it is always important to be prepared for any emergency that may arise.
El tanque en el que estamos trabajando es inmenso, con una capacidad de dos millones de litros. Su tamaño es impresionante y, debido a esto, los muchachos tuvieron que introducirse en él para realizar las labores de reparación. Contamos con medidas de seguridad adecuadas y con la instrumentación necesaria para garantizar la seguridad del equipo, pero aun así, siempre es importante estar preparado para cualquier emergencia que pueda surgir.
For safety reasons, and being the only woman on the team, I am not allowed to enter the tank. Instead, my responsibility is to coordinate all the tasks that take place outside. This involves staying out in the sun, which is quite strong at this time of year, leaving me completely exhausted. However, it is part of the job and I understand the importance of what we are doing.
Por razones de seguridad, y siendo la única mujer del equipo, no me permiten ingresar al tanque. En su lugar, mi responsabilidad es coordinar todas las tareas que se llevan a cabo en el exterior. Esto implica permanecer bajo el sol, que es bastante fuerte en esta época del año, lo cual me deja completamente agotada. Sin embargo, es parte del trabajo y entiendo la importancia de lo que estamos haciendo.
Today, my father, who has a lot of experience in this type of work, was present. Although he didn't enter the tank either, he gave valuable advice to the guys and passed on his knowledge constantly. His presence was a great help, not only because of his experience, but also because of the peace of mind he brings to the team. He, like me, went up to the top of the tank to supervise from there, but we decided it was best for him to be in the offices, in a more comfortable, air-conditioned environment. From there, he monitored us via his phone and was available for any questions.
Hoy, mi padre, quien tiene bastante experiencia en este tipo de trabajos, estuvo presente. Aunque tampoco ingresó al tanque, brindó consejos valiosos a los muchachos y nos transmitió su conocimiento constantemente. Su presencia fue de gran ayuda, no solo por su experiencia, sino por la tranquilidad que aporta al equipo. Él, al igual que yo, subió a la parte superior del tanque para supervisar desde allí, pero decidimos que lo mejor era que estuviera en las oficinas, en un ambiente más cómodo y con aire acondicionado. Desde ahí, nos monitorizó a través de su teléfono y estuvo disponible para cualquier consulta.
From the top of this huge tank you could see the entire hotel, along with part of Puerto Cruz beach. The view was impressive, and if you looked into the distance, you could also see the Hesperia Margarita hotel. The scenery from that height is really beautiful, but I didn't take many pictures because I had to stay focused on my work.
Desde la cima de este enorme tanque se podía apreciar todo el hotel, junto con parte de la playa Puerto Cruz. La vista era impresionante, y si mirabas hacia lo lejos, también se lograba divisar el hotel Hesperia Margarita. El paisaje desde esa altura es realmente hermoso, pero no tomé muchas fotos porque tenía que permanecer concentrada en mi trabajo.
On the other hand, from a different perspective of the tank, we could observe the lagoon “La Playa” and the Zaragoza beach. They were landscapes worth admiring, but at that moment I did not have enough time to capture them very well in pictures. When the pace of work is calmer and there is an opportunity, I promise to take better pictures to share them.
Por otro lado, desde una perspectiva diferente del tanque, se podía observar la laguna "La Playa" y la playa Zaragoza. Eran paisajes dignos de admirar, pero en ese momento no tuve el tiempo suficiente para captarlos muy bien en imágenes. Cuando el ritmo de trabajo sea más tranquilo y haya oportunidad, prometo tomar mejores fotos para compartirlas.
The day was really exhausting. The boys ended up completely exhausted, wishing to get home to rest. The day demanded a lot of effort, and unfortunately I could not document everything with photographs because my responsibilities prevented me from doing so. When the work demands so much concentration, it is almost impossible to be attentive to the phone, I know I feel committed to tell them and teach them, that's why I'm here.

El día fue realmente agotador. Los muchachos terminaron completamente exhaustos, deseando llegar a casa para descansar. La jornada nos exigió mucho esfuerzo, y lamentablemente no pude documentar todo con fotografías porque mis responsabilidades me lo impidieron. Cuando el trabajo demanda tanta concentración, es casi imposible estar pendiente del teléfono, se que me siento con el compromiso de contarles y enseñarle, por eso estoy aquí.
A pesar de todo, me alegra haber podido contarles un poco sobre cómo fue mi día de trabajo. Mañana la jornada continuará, y volveré a verlos para compartir más detalles sobre cómo se desarrolla esta labor.
