A day of skateboarding and friends [Eng/Esp]

Happy day to all, dear friends of the community. How are you today? I'm doing pretty well, and I hope you are too. Until recently, I had a cold, which kept me feeling a little down and not wanting to do much, but there was a skateboarding event I wanted to attend to take some pictures. The event lasted three days, and after not being able to go to the first two days, I ended up going on the third day, taking advantage of the fact that my girlfriend also wanted to go and it was a good way to spend time with her as well, since we hadn't seen each other because of what I mentioned before. So, welcome to a new post, which I hope you enjoy.

I'm not going to lie to you, I didn't feel 100% ready to go out, but I was tired of being cooped up, so I took a pill, got ready, and went to the skatepark. Once there, I waited for my girlfriend, who was with some friends who were also going to attend. I took several photographs of the event. There were people from different states in Venezuela, as it was a national competition, which made it even more exciting because of the high level of skill on display.

Feliz día para todos, queridos amigos de la comunidad. ¿Cómo se encuentran el día de hoy? Yo estoy bastante bien y espero que ustedes también lo estén. Hasta hace poco tenía un resfriado, el cual me mantuvo un poco decaído y sin ganas de hacer mucho, pero había un evento de skate al que quería asistir para hacer algunas fotografías, el evento duraba 3 días y luego de no lograr ir a los dos primeros, terminé yendo al tercer día aprovechando que mi novia también quería ir y era una buena forma de pasar tiempo con ella también, ya que no nos habíamos visto por lo que mencioné antes, por lo que, sean bienvenidos a una nueva publicación la cual espero que disfruten.

No les voy a mentir, no me sentía al 100% para salir, pero ya estaba cansado de estar encerrado, por lo que me tomé una pastilla, me preparé y me fui al skatepark. Una vez allí, esperé a mi novia, quien estaba con unos amigos que también asistirían. Estuve haciendo varias fotografías del evento, había personas de distintos estados de Venezuela, ya que era una competencia nacional, lo cual la hacía más llamativa por el gran nivel que demostraban.

When it was time for a break, my girlfriend asked Daniel for his skateboard, and he tried to teach her a little bit about how to keep her balance and other basic things. Obviously, my girlfriend didn't want to be inside the skatepark skating, she just wanted to entertain herself going from one place to another, so it was quite fun to watch her try to keep her balance on the skateboard, hence these photographs, which I think are quite cute and spontaneous, as well as funny, of her and Daniel trying to keep her from falling to the ground.

Once the competition began, we turned our attention back to each of the skaters who were participating. At first, the competition focused on the girls, then the boys, who were perhaps a little more advanced. There were also participants of different ages, ranging from 12 to over 20, so it is understandable that this category was a little more difficult and featured some more complicated tricks. The truth is that it was a very entertaining competition. There were some very interesting participants, whether because of their skating skills or their charisma, as they connected with the audience.

Cuando llegó el descanso, mi novia le pidió la patineta a Daniel, quien intentó enseñarle un poco del cómo mantener el equilibrio y este tipo de cosas básicas. Evidentemente, mi novia no quería estar dentro del skatepark patinando, sino que solo quería entretenerse de un lugar a otro, por lo que fue bastante divertido el observar cómo intentaba mantener el equilibrio en la patineta, de ahí estas fotografías que considero bastante lindas y espontáneas, además de divertidas de ella y Daniel intentando que no se cayera al suelo.

Una vez inició la competencia volvimos a centrar la atención en cada uno de los skaters que estaban participando, al principio la competencia se centró en las chicas, luego los chicos, los cuales quizás eran un poco más avanzados, además de también contar con la participación de distintas edades, que iban desde los 12 años hasta más de 20, por lo cual, es entendible que en esta categoría se viera un poco más de dificultad y algunos trucos más complicados. La verdad es que fue una competencia muy entretenida, había participantes muy interesantes, ya fuese por su destreza al momento de patinar o por el carisma al hacerlo, ya que conectaban con el público.

Once again, there was a break, and during this time, Daniel asked me to take some photos of him. I wasn't sure if he was joking, but I agreed. It's always fun to take photos in any situation, and since that was why I had come to this event, I had to take advantage of the fact that I had my camera with me. We took several photos, but I'm sharing these two with you. As I mentioned, it was spontaneous and just for fun, since Daniel is a bit of a joker who likes to have a good time, and you can see that in these photos.

That's how our day went, between competitions, acrobatics, and various conversations in between, but all connected by the same passion for seeing how athletic a competition can be, especially when you have competitors from different states across the country. I can imagine the adrenaline rush they must feel when competing against other people, especially with an audience there to support them.

Nuevamente, hubo un descanso y en este proceso, Daniel me pidió que le hiciera algunas fotografías, no sabía si era en modo de broma, pero yo acepté, siempre es entretenido hacer fotografías en cualquier situación y como yo había ido a este evento para eso, tenía que aprovechar que tenía mi cámara conmigo. Hicimos varias fotografías, pero les comparto estas dos. Como bien mencionaba, fue algo espontáneo y por un poco de diversión, ya que Daniel es poco serio, en cuanto al aspecto de que le gusta divertirse y eso se nota en estas fotografías.

Así transcurrió nuestro día, entre competencias, acrobacias y varias conversaciones entre tiempos, pero todos conectados por la misma pasión de ver lo deportivo que puede ser una competencia y más cuando se tiene competidores de distintos estados del país, imagino la adrenalina que les debe generar a ellos el medirse ante otras personas y más teniendo un público presente que les apoya.

I must say that I felt pretty good about being able to get out of my confinement, so the help of the pill and being in a fun environment with my girlfriend and friends were definitely helpful in that regard.
