Happy day to all, dear friends of the community. How are you today? I feel pretty good, and I hope you are too. Today I want to share with you a great experience I had when I went to the Carmelo Fernández Museum to see a new exhibition by the artist Néstor Betancourt, which featured many visually striking portraits. So, without further ado, I hope you enjoy it.
Feliz día para todos, queridos amigos de la comunidad. ¿Cómo se encuentran el día de hoy? Yo me siento bastante bien y espero que ustedes también lo estén. El día de hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una gran experiencia que tuve en un día que fui al Museo Carmelo Fernández para conocer una nueva exhibición del artista Néstor Betancourt, el cual contaba con muchos retratos visualmente muy llamativos, así que, sin nada más que agregar, espero que disfruten de ello.

To be perfectly honest, I wasn't familiar with this artist, but whenever the museum announces a new exhibition, I try to attend, firstly because I think it's a great way to spend a day—appreciating art is one of my favorite pastimes—and secondly because you actually get to meet the artists who create these works and who undoubtedly have a lot to express in their paintings.
I was accompanied by my friend Mariale; we walked around every part of the hall, stopping at different works, which were portraits, but not very conventional portraits if you ask me. It was easy to see what made them different: the large number of colors they used, colors that are not normally used, or at least I am not used to seeing them, and that is what made me stop at many of the works to appreciate the colors.
Siendo muy honesto, no tenía conocimiento de este artista, pero cada vez que el museo anuncia una nueva exhibición, intento asistir, primero porque me parece una excelente manera de pasar un día; apreciar el arte es uno de mis pasatiempos favoritos, y segundo porque efectivamente terminas conociendo a los artistas que crean estas obras y que sin duda tienen mucho para expresar en sus pinturas.
Estuve acompañado de mi amiga Mariale; estuvimos recorriendo cada parte del salón, nos deteníamos en distintas obras, las cuales eran retratos, pero retratos no tan convencionales si me lo preguntan, y es que será evidente notar lo que les diferencia, y es la gran cantidad de colores que tienen, además de ser colores que no se usan normalmente o al menos yo no estoy acostumbrado a ello, y eso mismo fue lo que me hizo detenerme en muchas de las obras para apreciar los colores.
Not only were the colors interesting, but so was the texture of the paints themselves. In many of the works, you could see the pattern of the brushstrokes, which gave these pieces a more striking touch and made me stop again to appreciate them. I did this with different works, but the portraits had a charm that made me spend much more time on them. I also took several photographs, in some of which I highlighted this texture I mentioned earlier.
At first, the only ones in the room were Mariale, the guide, and me. The guide told us a little about each work; he explained that several of the portraits are inspired by famous people, but that's all they are, inspired; if you stop to look at them, you'll realize that they're not real people, I mean, they're taken from the artist's mind, which makes them unique pieces. Obviously, they bear a certain resemblance to some actresses, but that's all, a resemblance, because you may find it difficult to spot these similarities.
No solo los colores fueron interesantes, sino la textura de las mismas pinturas también; en muchas de las obras se podía apreciar el patrón de los trazos, lo cual daba un toque más llamativo a estas piezas y lo que nuevamente hacía que me detuviera para apreciarlos. Lo hice con distintas obras, pero los retratos tenían un encanto que hacía que les dedicara mucho más tiempo; también hice varias fotografías; en algunas destaqué esta textura que menciono antes.
Al principio, los únicos en la sala éramos Mariale, el guía y yo. El guía nos iba contando un poco de cada obra; nos explicó que varios de los retratos están inspirados en personas famosas, pero es solo eso, inspirados; si te detienes a verlos, te darás cuenta de que no son personas reales, quiero decir, están sacados de la mente del artista, lo cual hace que sean unas piezas únicas. Evidentemente, tienen ciertos parecidos a algunas actrices, pero solo eso, parecido, porque te puede llegar a costar el encontrar estos parecidos.

Art stories undoubtedly have a profound impact, especially when they are about overcoming adversity and perseverance, qualities that this artist embodies. It is always nice to learn about the more human aspects of talented people in different fields, and I personally consider painting to be one of the most precious arts, as you can convey a feeling or a whole story just by combining colors and lines to create something, and this is undoubtedly a talent that very few people have, or at least to the extent of being able to tell stories with it.
Las historias del arte sin duda terminan calando mucho, más cuando estas historias terminan siendo parte de la superación y la constancia, en lo cual este artista predomina bastante. Siempre es lindo conocer estos aspectos más humanos que tienen aquellas personas más talentosas en distintos ámbitos, y yo personalmente considero la pintura como uno de los artes más preciosos, ya que puedes llevar a transmitir un sentimiento o una historia completa con solo el junte de colores y líneas que trazan algo, y esto sin duda es un talento que muy pocas personas pueden tener o al menos al nivel de contar historias con ello.

That was my day, surrounded by various portrait paintings, good company (then more people started to arrive, including the two girls I took the photo of, which I'm sure you've already seen), and lots of art, which fills life in a different way. Así fue mi día, rodeado de diversas pinturas de retratos, buena compañía (luego empezaron a llegar más personas, entre esas, las dos chicas a las cuales les hice la fotografía que seguro ya vieron) y mucho arte, lo cual llena la vida de una manera distinta.
