Hi everyone in this community! I hope you’re all doing great today as the weekend is fast approaching. Today, I’ll be sharing with you my very special day — an unexpected one filled with surprises, fun, and moments to cherish.
On the day of my birthday, I woke up like it was just a normal day at home. I had no plans at all. All I was thinking about was going to church to give thanks for another year of life. But that morning, before I even got a call from my boyfriend, I received a delivery—a box of fresh flowers.
This moment was actually funny because I thought it came from him. But later on, I found out it was from my boyfriend’s brother and his girlfriend. I only realized this when I got home. 😂
How did everything unfold? My sister had already told me that after work, we would go to Greenbelt Chapel and then grab coffee. Since I was already hungry and did not eat lunch, I decided to go ahead to Glorietta 5 and eat first. I went to my favorite place, Ramen Kuroda. I ate there alone, enjoying my food, because ramen really is my comfort food, as I’ve mentioned before. While I was eating, I actually received five missed calls from an unknown number. So I messaged asking who it was. The driver finally called me back and said, “Hi ma’am, delivery po.” I asked, “From whom?” and he answered, “From Dominik Moser.” Right at that moment, I was speechless again and thinking, another surprise delivery?! It was a cake and flowers, and this time, it was really from my boyfriend. I asked my neighbor to kindly keep the delivery for me first, and that we would get it as soon as we got home.
After eating, I went to Greenbelt Chapel to pray and give thanks. I stayed around the area to wait for my sisters. After a few hours, they arrived and told me we would eat dinner already and have coffee afterwards. I asked where we were going, but they said we could just look around and decide. Little did I know… the plan was already in motion.
As someone who had no clue about the surprise, I just walked with them until we reached a restaurant they had booked—Dillinger’s. At first, I was hesitant to go in because I knew it was an expensive place. I even told them, “Are you serious?” I kept stepping forward and backward because I wasn’t sure.
But we eventually went inside, not knowing that my cousin and my sister’s boyfriend were already there waiting. The moment I walked in, they started singing “Happy Birthday,” and I was completely speechless! Then my sister said, “Surprise! From your boyfriend.”
I was shocked, surprised, overwhelmed and I almost cried because I never expected such a big and thoughtful surprise. As I sat down, I was still surprised and couldn’t believe this was really happening. After a few minutes, we decided to order food, and while waiting, we had a nice conversation. He told me how this plan—this whole surprise came together. We enjoyed the music in the background and even took some photos while waiting for our food to arrive.
We enjoyed the food, especially the steak. Everyone loved everything—from the dishes we ordered to the drinks we had. We stayed there for quite a while since we all ordered cocktails to end the night. We also enjoyed the live band during this time, which made the evening even more memorable. The staff of the restaurant also sang Happy Birthday to me and even gave me a cake. It made the moment even more fun and lively. It was truly a joyful celebration, and being able to spend it with my sisters made it even more wonderful.
When I got home, I saw the gift my boyfriend left for me, the cake and the flowers. To be honest, I felt so special and loved. My boyfriend never fails to surprise me; he really is the best.
