RE: There Are Some Good Ones Too

I don't really like the trend on Web2 to over-share so much. Modest experience in security and a personal sense of reserve both make me cringe when people share photos of keys, kids, and other stuff that simply isn't anyone else's business. And we are now seeing the first generation of kids who had their entire childhoods broadcast to the world reaching adulthood, and that can't be healthy.

It's pretty easy for me to avoid bragging about wealth online. One needs wealth to brag about it. I'd rather discuss spending wisely on the quiet luxury of durable, timeless goods and making old stuff last with repair and proper care.

This is very true and I agree with you. Imagine those kids who's parents used them for years, to get some likes and some money. It's really bad and so many don't understand.

Modesty is nowhere to be found these days, unfortunately and a good part of people live for social validation, that's happiness for them. Really bad direction.
