I don't think I could survive without air conditioning. My friend just spent some time over in Paris and that was one of his biggest complaints about the city. I understand why they don't have it a lot of places, but that doesn't make it any easier to cope with.

It's difficult to set up the external units when it comes to historical buildings, a few hundred years old, as those are protected. But it definitely gives you a better quality of life.
We didn't have such heat during my childhood, but things have changed.
