NEW WAYS TO LOOK AT THINGS

Hello beautiful people. You see “When I get to the bridge, I will cross it.”

The above can be looked at from multiple perspectives. The first perspective could be from that of a fellow, who confidently makes the above affirmation knowing fully well that he or she has put some things in place to ensure stability when they get to a bridge of uncertainty (as is a predictable occurrence in life) and as a result, spend minimal time or resources in understanding the ways of crossing such bridges. Such a person must have learnt from experience or by other possible means that it is better and safer to prepare ahead by putting things in place or setting them in motion, adopting and strictly following a carefully planned out lifestyle and so on.

Another perspective could be from a fellow who confidently believes that when such bridges are met while moving from one phase of life to the other, they will definitely be fine. This could stem from the belief that things will always work out fine. Personal experiences could have a hand here as well as religious beliefs.

I recently rounded up my NYSC and life after has really been very practical. The above scenarios have been seen and are being seen with their different tastes. During the national service, some of us were already planning for the life after while others were not that much bothered. I know of former Corps Members who are currently doing far better and also those who are still struggling to find their stands. This phase of life has clearly shown that we can all be on the same bridge or stage in life but those better prepared will obviously do better and possibly be ahead.

This is not a call to competition but a reminder to always play safe by preparing and staying prepared for what come may. There are people that do well in life without much preparation and this could be a factor of privilege. Even at that, the privilege that is available to some people is as a result of previous preparations made by their predecessors.

Life preparation can never be over-emphasized and should not be underrated. The preparations made and systems put in place today could be the saving graces for tomorrow. Of course, there is always a place for God in our dealings with the different chapters of life which are all connected one to the other; but most times, God uses what we have to bless or help us get through.

Stay prepared for life.
