I enjoyed a walk around Codnor Reservoir this morning. The weather continues to be very warm and the water looked quite calm.

While I was here, I decided to look for a geocache. The cache was magnetic, and the clue said, “think of the kinds of places that trolls like to live.” That obviously made me think of bridges.

There is an old, defunct bridge next to the reservoir, so I am guessing that was the hiding place for the cache.

I'm not very good at finding geocaches but as it was a small magnetic one, I thought the obvious place was the metal bar. I found it straight away. I signed the piece of paper inside to say what day I'd found it and then I replaced it.

I also spent some time watching the wildlife around the reservoir. Looking down from above, I realised the resident swans have had four cygnets. They were sat with mum. Dad was doing what daddy swans do and was chasing all the other birdlife off the lake.

I also spotted a mallard duck and her four ducklings sleeping by the side of the lake.

As I walked over the metal bridge, I looked down to see another six ducklings with their parents. I'm pleased we are having such lovely weather so they will hopefully thrive.

I continued my walk back to my car. It had been a lovely morning with plenty of wildlife to see, and I was pleased that I had managed to find the geocache as well.
