Onboarding Wahala.

in HiveGhana9 days ago

I remember earlier this year when I tried onboarding someone to Hive, Honestly, that day ehn, I just knew not everyone has the patience or mindset for this space, this girl had been on my neck for weeks, asking me, Treasure, abeg just tell me how you dey make money online na, I told her, it is Hive I use o, but Hive no be quick money thing, you gats actually write, engage and grow. She was like, Ah, so far money dey come out, I go do am! I just smiled because that line "so far money dey come out” always shows who’s coming for passion and who is coming for the money.

So I took my time to explain the basics to her about how to open a Hive account, the introduction post, engagement, and all that, She was all excited, saying, ah, I go blow for there! I laughed small and told her, Relax o, just write your first post, introduce yourself and start engaging with people, She did her intro post, and I even helped her with some editing because she didn’t really know how to format it. People commented and welcomed her nicely, and she was happy.

Then she made her second post, a short one about herself again. She came to tell me, e never pay me o, I said, “It doesn’t work like that, you have to keep writing and engaging, Hive is like a community ,the more you show up, the more people notice you, She was like, Ah, but I thought when I post I will just start earning immediately now?, I laughed and said, Na there the wahala dey start, hive no be ponzi o!

After her third post, she just disappeared. For weeks I did not see any update from her, so I called her one day. I was like, babe, how far? You never post again o, She said, Abeg, I no do again jare, I no understand that thing, i posted and no money came out, If na so, how una dey earn sef? At that point, I just shook my head, I reminded her again that Hive is not a get rich quick platform, it is a space where consistency pays off, not instant gratification.

She still insisted I should just tell her the real place I earn from, I told her, Na Hive be the real thing, but you just no patient, At that point, I got tired and said, see, just keep your keys safe, If one day you change your mind and want to come back, you can always log in again.

Till today, she never came back, and honestly, it made me realize something not everyone is ready for the long term process, people want results immediately without doing the work, Some even think there is a hidden platform you are not telling them about.

But well, at least I tried, Maybe someday she will understand that consistency is the real key, not just chasing quick money.

Feel intresting reading about his story, I hope she is fine now

Still not writing. With time maybe

Consistency in everything is really the key

Yes it is

I also disappeared for months before my mentor encouraged me and told me all she has brought with hive money, then I calm down and start being consistency. Now I can say I am happy I joined hive.

You see.
At least you listened

😂 all this MMM candidate sef. So in her mind now she will just start cashing out with ease, no effort what so ever?

Omo the bae tire me o
I have told her that when she's ready I will be here

People forget that there’s something like “beginning phase”. Sometimes I like to categorize hive as TikTok or twitter. It’s very very rare to see an account that blows at first entry. Everything takes time. Building an audience, making yourself atleast known, it takes time.

And this is why I don’t like onboarding anyone. I only ever did for one person and it wasn’t me who handled the teaching and stuff, i just begged a friend thst was holding a class to help her and she has been doing so great so far.

Haven’t brought in anyone ever since, it’s a let down when the person you took time to explain to and bring on here just decides to toss it away. Shows they didn’t appreciate your effort and are not willing to make any effort to grow here themselves
