Interesting. Was it hard to focus? Could you use it handheld or was the tripod required to reduce the shakes? I got an adapter for my phone to use binoculars, but was very hard to get the lens centered and focused while still working the phone to take pictures.

It would be very difficult to contain the lens shake if I wasn't using a tripod.
Even strong winds can shake the focus of this lens.

Thanks for confirming. Similar issue with the binocular adapter, but the image stabilization helps a lot.
