Wax gourd in our vegetable garden!

in Amazing nature (AN)2 months ago

It is a wax gourd. It is a type of vegetable. It is one of the vegetables that is most abundant during these times of the year. Especially these vegetables were once cultivated in every house in the rural areas and they were grown on the rice of the house. Hence it is known as Chaal Kumra in our vernacular. It is a widely known and popular vegetable. It sells quite well in the market and each rice pumpkin costs around 50 cents on an average. However it looks a lot like a gourd hence the name wax gourd. Anyway it's a vegetable on our plant and I liked it when I saw this vegetable on our plant for the past few days. This is because this plant has yielded a total of three such vegetables so far. Although the plant has grown quite well.

Like every year my parents grow different vegetables in our house. Basically we plant various vegetable plants to meet our family needs and when those vegetable plants produce, they meet our family needs. Moreover, eating fresh and unadulterated vegetables from your own vegetable garden is delicious. These trees were planted by my father and this tree has grown up over the mango trees and some lofts. The plant had good flowers from the beginning. Although the plant has many flowers but only three fruits have been produced. So I was quite pleased to see this vegetable hanging on the tree.

This vegetable is quite popular in our region at this time. It is cooked as a vegetable and can be said to be quite tasty. And it is cooked as a curry with fish. Basically, this type of vegetable is cooked mostly with fish in our region. However, this year our plants did not yield very well. Rather, the entire plant had many flowers but no yield to that extent. So far I have seen three of these vegetables yield. Although now it can be said at the last stage. And it is still very small.

Sort:

This is one of those vegetables that is not known in my city. It is the first time I read and see a photograph about the wax gourd.
How great that they grow their own food. There is no greater satisfaction than planting food for your family with your own hands.
Thank you very much, dear friend @kawsar8035, for introducing us to this vegetable.
